No More Heroes 2 – Walkthrough February 3, 2010

Filed under: Tips, Tricks, and Secrets — hey_suburbia @ 5:44 pm

no more heroes 2 walkthrough No More Heroes 2 Walkthrough
GameTrailers has a great walkthrough, here is the first entry:

To beat No More Heroes 2, you must work your way up through the ranks to become the #1 assassin. Your first battle in the game is against the 51st ranked assassin, but thankfully you do not have to kill all 50 of the remaining assassins standing between you and first! Read below for strategies on beating the assassins you do have to defeat in order to win the game.

No. 51: Skelter Helter
NMH2 Clash 600x337 No More Heroes 2 Walkthrough

When you first have control of Travis Touchdown, you’ll be facing an albino enemy, Skelter Helter, the brother of some poor fool you slaughtered in the first No More Heroes. This guy is no pushover. The game will run you through the controls here throughout the fight, so pay attention to learn the various battle techniques available to you. Lock onto the guy, run toward him, roll out of the way of his attack, then start hacking away until he drops.

After a gratuitous fan service cutscene, you’ll be back fighting Skelter Helter. Go to town on him before he starts firing his gatling revolver, then go crazy on him with your beam sword again. Use a combination of high and low slashes, and move the analog stick in the directions indicated onscreen, when they make their appearance, to finish the bastard.

You’re now the 51st ranked assassin!

Another few cutscenes rife with sexual innuendo violence later, you’ll find yourself in your apartment. Play with your fat cat, Jeane, or choose your wardrobe, or play a shmup, or whatever you feel like. When you’re ready to get on with the game, exit the apartment. If you feel like tackling a Side Job, by all means do so. You can also visit Airport 51 (to buy new clothes), Naomi’s Lab (to buy new weapons), or Ryan’s Gym (to build up your strength & stamina). We suggest at the very least playing the Side Jobs to earn enough money to purchase the new weapon from Naomi.

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks – Review Round-up 2 December 10, 2009

Video Review by GameTrailers

103155 1 The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks – Review Round up 2

IGN – 93
While Spirit Tracks has some obvious deja vu elements and can drag on from time to time, Nintendo’s latest pocket Zelda trumps the first game hands-down, delivering amazing bosses once again, now complemented with impressive dungeons, a truly epic challenge in the Spirit Tower, and a substantially longer adventure overall.

Cheat Code Central – 92
It’s not quite as lengthy or extensive as a Zelda game for the Wii, but it certainly includes all those elements Zelda fans are looking for: lots of dungeon crawling, puzzles, good storyline, charming visuals, etc. Best of all, you can take it with you on your next trip and even play it with a friend.

Official Nintendo Magazine UK – 91
Not a huge leap forward for the series but a wonderful game nonetheless. Enjoy.

1UP – 91
Fortunately, Spirit Tracks is nowhere near as toothless as its predecessor, so these issues amount to minor irritants at worst. It’s a deceptively meaty adventure with enough novel twists on the Zelda formula to keep it from feeling phoned-in. It’s definitely a game that rewards casual play — not in the sense of “casual games,” but rather in the sense that it’s packed with events and quests that you’ll completely miss if you simply rush from dungeon to dungeon. The loose, upbeat banjo-and-whistle melody that plays as you ride the rails says it all: Relax, take it easy, enjoy the ride, see the sights. And while I miss the traditional overworld design of the core Zelda games, there’s something inherently fun about rambling across the countryside on a steam engine, unlocking new tracks by completing side quests, and filling a little book with station stamps at each stop along the way. The end result is a charming side story that, like Link’s Awakening and Majora’s Mask, forges its own unique personality — something the medium could certainly use a little more of these days.

I suppose it’s pretty much a given that Nintendo fans are always going to buy the latest Zelda game, but Spirit Tracks doesn’t simply coast along on its legacy. Like New Super Mario Bros. Wii, it’s a direct follow-up to a recent release that exceeds its predecessor in every way. And while it may not hit the soaring heights of Mario’s latest, it’s a fine game in its own right.

Game Revolution – 91
A fun time and very well executed game. If you’re looking for something to play on the road while on vacation, or hiding away from society in a bomb shelter until Christmas blows over, The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks makes as good a companion as a Ghost Princess.

Computer and Video Games – 90
A superb quest that doesn’t rewrite the rules but delivers another engrossing Zelda adventure. If you own a DS, buy it. Spirit Tracks has that same Zelda intrigue with each new unexplored area, be it a village, dungeon or cave in the wall, drawing you towards it like a fat man to a fridge. You just have to look around. Explore. Lose yourself in its world. And with an abundance of side quests (catching bunnies, collecting jewels, stamping in a stamp book, giving characters lifts around) there’s plenty of activities to get absorbed into.

Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks isn’t the refresh so many fans are calling for, but that task can be left for the next big boy Wii entry. Despite this – and the fact that it’s a little on the easy side, like Hourglass – this is still a stunning example of brilliant game design and you won’t find much better on any handheld.

GameTrailers – 90
Spirit Tracks addresses all of the shortcomings of Phantom Hourglass and delivers a brilliant experience. It hasn’t done much to change up the established formula, but it’s still a solid adventure that ranks as one of the better outings in the series.
Watch Video Review

NintendoWorldReport – 90
A superb game and one of the best DS games this year. The dungeons are top-tier, entertaining affairs, and the train is fun to ride around in as you journey through the interesting game world.

GameSpot – 85
Spirit Tracks’ exciting new mechanics and classic gameplay make it one Zelda adventure that has got a full head of steam.

GamePro – 80
While it isn’t perfect, Spirit Tracks does enough things right that you won’t regret persevering through the initial sluggishness. Once the game picks up momentum and speed, it packs a locomotive sized punch, one that doesn’t reinvent the wheel but still manages to do the storied franchise proud.

Edge Magazine – 80
Spirit Tracks’ aging tricks continue to carry you cack into the narcotic realms of pure ritual, until you’re deep in the caverns yet again, holding the magic yellow boomerang once more, and wondering what quirky brilliance it will bring with it this time.

1. All Aboard: The Journey to Castle Town

::::::Get to Castle Town::::::

* After the intro cutscene, go out of the house and go north.
* Talk to the blue haired boy and roll into the tree.
* Run east and jump into the water.
* Talk to the boy again.
* Go up the stairs to the north.
* Drive the train to Castle Town.
* Use the gearbox to speed up, the whistle to chase cows away.
* Make sure to avoid the other trains. Turn right-left-right and you’ll hit your destination safely.
* Don’t forget to hit the breaks so you don’t run circles. In the worst case scenario there’s always reverse.

::::::Get the Tunic::::::

spirit tracks zelda The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks Walkthrough

* Go north to the castle, talk to the guards and get in.
* Head up the stairs north.
* After the cutscene is done, read the letter (Menu – Collection – Letters)
* Now you have to sneak past several guards to get to your destination.
* Exit the main chamber and go right, avoid the guard here.
* Once up you’ll be confronted with a guard right away. Run right behind the corner so he doesn’t see you.
* Run north then jump down in front of the door and enter.
* Now go north up the right staircase.

::::::Get out of the Castle::::::

* After the cutscene go back to the corridor.
* You’ll now see guard patrol router on your map.
* Move south-east through the door there, avoiding 2 guards. You can do it by sticking to the back of the one lower one.
* Jump down and call her to come to you. Now go stand in front of the guard that you saw in the mini cutscene earlier, and draw her a path to go around the other side.
* Make sure NOT to tap the Call button when you’re done because you want her at that spot.
* Go down to the next guard and stand in front of him, make her go behind him.
* Take a rock and throw it somewhere far so that the next guard moves, have her quickly move across. To make sure he doesn’t go back throw another rock so you distract him again.
* Go distract the guard at the main entrance by standing next to him just to be safe and move her to the gate.

::::::Get the Sword::::::

* After the cutscene you’ll be on the train but it’s not a real train ride.
* After another cutscene go out of the room and south.
* Head up the stairs to the throne room.
* Move up to the door where disappeared and tap it to open it.
* Just go through the corridor up the stairs.
* Go out the room and all the way around. Go down the stairs and talk to the guard.
* Go up again and tap the door to open it then enter the throne room.
* Go out the other side and then right into the door on the north.
* Talk to the guard standing right in front of you.
* Finish the sword training.

::::::Getting to the Tower of Spirits::::::

* Go back down to the backdoor.
* Kill all the enemies here and talk to the guard.
* Go north, take the bomb flower by tapping it and throw it at the second straight section of wall from the left side.
* Inside of the cave kill all enemies the push the block on the switch.
* Take the key and enter the door.
* Follow the path and use the 2 bomb flowers to blast through the rocks.
* Hit the switches in order: Right – Top – Bottom – Left
* In this room just kill the mice end exit up north.

::::::Get the first Rail Map::::::

* After the cutscene go up the stairs.
* Enter the door on top of the room.
* Go forward and after the small cutscene get obliterated by the monster.
* Go up again.
* Run left and grab the first tear.
* After getting the second tier up north, go right and hit the switch.
* Now run back left, into the inner circle where the phantom is patrolling and then right across the bridge.
* Get behind the phantom and hit him with your sword!
* Switch to Zelda and draw a map so that it crosses one side of the door (A mark will appear on the path)
* Switch to Link and tap the other side.
* Go to the spikes, then switch to Zelda and lead her to the switch on the other side.
* Turn right, kill the enemies then position Link on one switch and Zelda on the other.
* Leave Zelda there and go push the block in front of the rat hole. After that, move her to the other side as well.
* Switch to Zelda, cross the spike and hit the switch behind the other phantom.
* Have link move to the right of the phantom and Zelda talk to the phantom from its left. Then move link quickly behind.
* Go into the next room and grab the rail map!
* Step into the light to get back to base level and talk to Anjean.

:::::Get to the Forest Temple::::::

* Travel to the location marked ??? on your map, east of the forest.
* Talk to the villagers.
* Head west into the forest.
* Go left or right depending on which direction the tree branch is pointing right before a junction. The fourth tree has no sense for direction so go the opposite direction of where it is pointing.
* Once in this area, go north and then right to reach the 2 bomb plants.
* Take one plant and throw it next to the switch (so it doesn’t hit it), then run back for the second one.
* By the time the first one explodes and the bridge comes out you should already be at the ledge. Hurry to the left and destroy the stone wall.
* Go left and tap the tablet. It asks you to connect the two statues facing each other. Connect the top left and bottom right one (Look at the statues)
* Enter and talk with Gage.
* Play the song with him. Just follow the instructions he gives.
* Head back out and go right until you reach a rocket shaped rock. Take out the flute and look what colors are coming out of the rock and play those colors.
* Head back to the train.
* Travel north to the Forest Temple. In order to avoid getting hit by the skulltulas, slow down in front of them and blow the whistle to make them scramble.

—————————————————-

2. Getting Lost: The Forest Temple

::::::Getting the Whirlwind::::::

* Once inside go left and play the colors Green White Green in front of the statue to get the Song of Healing.
* In the next room follow the path until you get to two plants.
* Take one of the plants and hit the switch on the right to make the bridge expand. Turn right.
* Defeat the enemies here, take the rupees from the chest and head up.
* Follow the path while avoiding the purple goo.
* Defeat the spiders and take the whirlwind from the chest.

::::::Getting the Big Key::::::

The Legend of Zelda- Spirit Tracks_Lost_Woods

* Stand in front of the gap and blow the whirlwind at the rotating totem to open the door.
* First go south and blow away the goo in the top left corner to unveil a chest with a treasure.
* Go left, blow away the goo and go down the stairs.
* Stand on either the top or bottom side from the key and blow the Whirlwind at it.
* Pick up the key and head south towards the locked door at the entrance.
* Follow the path until you get to the very bottom. Here you will fight 2 floating skull enemies.
* In order to defeat them, blow them down with the Whirlwind and then finish them off while they’re stunned.
* In the next room head north up the stairs.
* Blow the Whirlwind in such a way that it carries the chestnut to the switch.
* Pick up the key from the chest and head down.
* Enter the door on the right to fight the mini boss of this temple.
* In order to defeat him aim at him wit the whirlwind and wait until he shoots a skull at you then fire the whirlwind to return it to him. While he is stunned hit him with the sword. Rinse and repeat.
* Go up to the third floor and go south.
* Hit the blue snail thing to make it curl up, then slowly bash it with your shield against the wall. Hit it with the sword to make it explode and open the way for you.
* Clear the goo to the right to reveal a switch.
* Now clear all the goo so you can cross on the other side. Take the treasure from the chest and hit the switch.
* Go all the way left where the door opened.
* Lure the snail bombs north, hit them, then use the whirlwind to blow one into the wall, and the second one into the switch.
* Go to the central chamber and right for the Big Key.
* Look at the map behind the key and note down the path you must take.
* Go up for the boss fight.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii – Cheats – 99 Lives November 17, 2009

Filed under: Fanboy, Tips, Tricks, and Secrets, Videos — hey_suburbia @ 9:47 am

99271 1 New Super Mario Bros. Wii Cheats 99 Lives

I remember it just like it was yesterday. The rumor in 1986 that went around the school yard and passed from kid to kid during the summer. The rumor was said to get an infinite amount of lives in Super Mario Bros. for the NES. Very few could master it, and whoever could pull off the feet was king for the day. Nintendo really kept New Super Mario Bros. Wii old school by using one of the most classic cheats (skills?) in the Mario Bros. franchise. The guys over at GT found the same trick in the New Super Mario Bros. Wii to get 99 lives, the only difference is that the lives are numerical who as in the NES version you got weird symbols to represent your lives

After watching the video above, check out the same exact trick done 23 years ago, in this YouTube clip of somebody doing this in the original Super Mario Bros.
