Nintendo Download – August 23, 2012

While many are still busy gathering their 1 million coins in New Super Mario Bros. 2, Nintendo is ready to release three more games this week.

VectorRacing shows us a bit of what F-Zero could be like on the 3DS. In fact, this futuristic racer looks very similar, just without the polish and name-brand of the popular series. While it does not seem to have head-t0-head racing, you can compete for best times via local and online rankings.

Metal Slug X comes to the Wii Virtual Console. This update to Metal Slug 2 contains a new weapon and several new enemies and rearranged music. If you are a run-and-gun action fan, be sure to check it out.

Abyss is a side-scrolling adventure for DSiWare that has you exploring the world to find a new energy source, Gaia. You control a biomedical robot called Nep2no, which you must fly through each area quickly gathering energy without hitting an enemy.

So, what do you think of this week’s releases? What game gets you excited to play? Let us know in the comments below or in our forums! Be sure to check out the price list and official press release below, and let us know if you download a game/app and what you think.
