About the author:

Jeremy’s love of gaming, especially Nintendo started in the late 80’s when his parents bought him and his older brother an NES. Many hours were spent playing Mario and Duck Hunt. Eventually Jeremy graduated to bigger and better games and systems, like the SNES, GC, Wii, 3DS, and finally to the Wii U. Ask him what the defining moment of his childhood gaming was and he’ll answer, “the day I beat Zelda 2.” To this day that game holds a special place in his heart. His favorite types of games are platformers.

Jeremy started blogging for NintendoFuse in October 2010. He started off as a lurker on the forums who won a free copy of And Yet It Moves on WiiWare. From there he realized he liked the forums and the site and wanted to remain a part of it. He was brought on board shortly thereafter and has helped post news and reviews for the past couple of years. Currently Jeremy has taken a step back to focus on family and school. He assists in minor back-end site maintenance from time to time.

This is JonLeung of VGMaps.com: The Video Game Atlas.
I would like to let you know that the game is not an original creation of Flip Industries, and was actually envisioned by me as an April Fool’s joke for my own web site back in 2007.  You can see for yourself here: http://www.vgmaps.com/NewsArchives/April2007/index.htm#SuperKidIcarus

You see, between April 2005 and 2009, VGMaps.com has had maps of “fake” games as an April Fool’s joke to be selected as the “Maps Of The Month”.  Among these are possible maps for The Legend Of Zelda: Oracle Of Hours (based on the cancelled GBC game, http://vgmaps.com/NewsArchives/April2008/index.htm#LegendOfZeldaOracleOfHours) as well as Metroid Dread (the rumoured 2D Metroid game, http://vgmaps.com/NewsArchives/April2009/index.htm#MetroidDread).

Now, regarding Super Kid Icarus, the maps themselves are a strict tile replacement of the original game’s maps, so I’m certainly not as angry as with the multitude of people who have wanted to use my other map projects for their games without asking.  However, there was still some effort involved, and considering the publicity that Flip Industries’ Super Kid Icarus is getting, without having ever mentioned VGMaps.com as far as I can tell, I can’t help but speak up that credit should be given where it’s due.

      • Jonathanleung314

Excuse me, but what did I say that was trolling?  If you actually took a look, it’s obvious Flip Industries took my work with very little modification.

We apologize that your work was taken without credit. We will leave your comment/story here so that people can read what happened.

Because I did.  Simple as that.  I don’t know what you have to gain by doubting me, when the original thread on my forums is dated 2007.

LH, you do realize that there is no *real* Super Kid Icarus, right? This is fanmade, and the fan who made it just happens to be Jonathan Leung. You are the troll here if you persist.
