Nintendo Download – October 20, 2011

In an odd turn of events, Nintendo seems to be placing more emphasis on media than games in the latest installment of the Nintendo Download. Only three games are set to hit, and one of them might not even be considered a game.

On the 3DS Virtual Console, we get Double Dragon (GameBoy). The DSiWare service gains Castle Conqueror – Revolution. WiiWare serves up another fish tank simulator with the appropriately named Fish Tank.

Where the bigger news sits this week is in a new direction for 3DS Nintendo Video. In addition to the streaming video service you can already access with a free downloadable app, you can now download videos to your 3DS to keep. You will have to pay $1.99 each for these, however. The first videos available are Dreamworks’ Animation Halloween Collection. Included in this collection are “The Pig Who Cried Werewolf,” “Night of the Living Carrots,” and one more surprise video coming soon.

If you have not done so yet, download your ten free NES games available for all Nintendo 3DS Ambassadors. Speaking of which, NintendoFuse is holding a HUGE competition surrounding those ten Ambassador games! Make sure to join in, because you could win a copy of Skyward Sword, Super Mario 3D Land, or Mario Kart 7!

As always, check out the price list and official press release below. Be sure to let us know if you download a game and what you think.
