The news service Nikkei (subscription required) has confirmed one of the bigger rumors regarding Nintendo’s new console; the touch screen controller. The touch screen is six inches, and it allows players to play on the screen itself in conjunction with the traditional buttons. The controller will also be used as a separate portable device and the reason being is that Nintendo wants to “attract more users by offering a console that doubles as a portable game system”. Also, Nikkei has stated that the controller features a camera that allows the player to create their own character using pictures that they have snapped. No word on how this controller, being portable and all, will be able to link up with the 3DS or most importantly, how comfortable it will be in the hands of players.
