Just saw this on Worth1000.com and thought I’d share. The contest was to create a real life image based on a video game.

Castlevania The Adventure ReBirth – Review Roundup
Another 100 years have passed since the death of Count Dracula, but his curse has emerged once again within the realms of Transylvania. Play the role of the ultimate gothic hero from the long lineage of vampire hunters, the Belmont clan, and rid the universe of Dracula’s legion of darkness and doom. Based on the classic 1989 original Castlevania: The Adventure, this WiiWare version will allow players of a new generation – and older fans – to experience one of the most popular games within the storied Castlevania timeline from a new perspective.
Nintendo Life – 90
Sure the game is a bit predictable at times and there aren’t as many modern Castlevania conveniences as some might hope for, but at its core, this is yet another extremely playable and enjoyable 2D Castlevania experience and when it comes right down to it, there could never be too much of that for diehard fans of the series, new or old.
Cheat Code Central – 90
Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth is just about everything an old-school fan could hope for, and it’s probably the best title in the ReBirth series thus far.
Top 5 Virtual Console games released in 2009
The Examiner.com editor, Shui Ta, gives us his Top 5 VC Games of the year:
5. Earthworm Jim 2 (Sega Genesis)

The 16-bit gaming era was filled with many great 2D platformers. Earthworm Jim 2 is one of the best in the genre thanks to its quirky one-of-a-kind humor in addition to the diverse gameplay. So while the game may be insanely hard at times, the experience (especially the excellent soundtrack) is well worth the trials and tribulations in this classic Virtual Console game.
4. Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen Quest (Super Nintendo)

Before working on Final Fantasy Tactics, acclaimed game designer Yasumi Matsuno was responsible for another classic strategy role-playing game on the Super Nintendo, Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen Quest. This Virtual Console title features a deep class system to go along with the epic real-time strategy battles. The original retail product was considered to be a rare product. Fortunately, the 2009 Virtual Console release makes it readily available to gamers at a more affordable 800 Wii Points. .
3. Super Smash Bros. (Nintendo 64)

Nintendo has produced plenty of mascots throughout their long history. Super Smash Bros. brings the most iconic characters together. While the fan service is nice, the simple yet deep fighting system really shines with this Virtual Console game. Fights can also get chaotic thanks to environmental hazards and random items appearing on the field. While the sequels may be better, Super Smash Bros. still manages to be a fun and addicting experience.
2. Super Mario Kart (Super Nintendo)

Back in 1992, Nintendo decided to create an arcade racing game based around the universe of Mario with Super Mario Kart. That ended up being a brilliant decision as the game revolutionized mascot kart racers thanks to its creative track design, fun power-ups and cast of iconic characters. With two-player multiplayer support to boot, Super Mario Kart is one the best racing games available on the Virtual Console.
1. The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask (Nintendo 64)

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask had to follow what many still considered to be the greatest game of all-time in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Instead of trying to replicate the same experience, the sequel took several risky leaps by adding a time limit to the equation. While this resulted in increased difficulty, it also makes the game feel fresh and unique compared to the later sequels that followed. Although it is debatable if the sequel ended up as good as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, there is no debate that The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is the best Virtual Console game released in 2009.
Honorable Mentions:
Blaster Master
Final Fantasy
Kirby’s Dream Land 3
Phantasy Star
Pilot Wings
Super Punch-Out!!
Zombies Ate My Neighbors

Naughty Dog No Motion Controlled Game, Praises The Wii
Naughty Dog are behind some the Sony Playstation’s biggest IPs, including Crash Bandicoot, Jak & Daxter and Uncharted. But that doesn’t mean they don’t appreciate the Nintendo Wii. When asked if they would ever make a motion controlled game, Naughty Dog’s co-president Evan Wells said that it won’t happen any time in the near future, but he does see the appeal behind such games…
“I think right for the genre that we’re in? We really don’t have any interest in using the motion control to do a third-person action game. If we were going to make a motion controller game, I think we’d want to tackle it from the bottom up and make sure that we were designing the game around the motion control, the way the best Wii games are designed. I’m not a Wii hater at all, in fact, it’s probably one of my most played consoles in the house. I have a 3-year old son which might account for some of that [laughs], but I think Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort are some of the best experiences of this generation, honestly. They’re immensely playable and competitive, and just great fun with a group of people in the same room. Yeah, I think the PlayStation audience is totally for it, in fact, I bet you there are lot of closet Wii owners in the PlayStation community. If there is some really good software for that motion controller, I think it can be a big, big success.”

First Impressions – The Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces
After getting some hands-on time with the completed upcoming air combat game, James gives his initial impressions.
Tilting the Nunchuck works just like the control stick in an aircraft, controlling the direction of the nose of the plane. The Wii Remote lets you control the speed of your aircraft by tilting it up and back. At first it feels uncomfortable, forcing you to hold the controls out in order to maintain the neutral position; however, it does become more natural with time.
The fighting is much closer than the fights in Ace Combat titles. Head-to-head confrontations evolve into high speed pursuits. Pursuits become twisting dogfights.
The game looks nice, using a wide array of colors to accentuate the cartoon images. The game also features hand-drawn anime cinematics. The aircraft simply look fast and their designs are interesting and unique.
The sound is also very good. The engine whirs match those of a rotary engine, the clatter of machine guns ring out accurately, and the sound of shot down aircraft are appropriately unsettling. There is a lot of well-acted speech, punctuating every event. The game also sports very good music that does not appear to be from the movie. It’s an audio treat!
