With more tracks, more bonus features and more strategic racing challenges, Excitebike: World Rally is a racing game that will keep you challenged with its ever-increasing difficulty and entertained with its track editor and online play.
Hardcore Gamer Magazine – 85
Excitebike: World Rally, like its predecessor, seamlessly merges simplicity with fun.
GamePro – 80
If you’re a fan of the original Excitebike then chances are you’ll certainly enjoy World Rally on the Wii. Its new look and refined gameplay offer a fresh take on a timeless classic, but be prepared to share a controller.
NintendoWorldReport – 80
One of the most compelling features of Excitebike: World Rally is the ability to head online and engage in multiplayer races with both friends and random players.
IGN – 79
As much as I still hold the classic near and dear to my heart I don’t think it quite holds up to today’s standards, but this 3D revisit is easily one of the better WiiWare offerings available.
Cheat Code Central – 78
Excitebike: World Rally isn’t a revolution for the series; heck, it isn’t even an evolution, really. However, over 20 years later, the gameplay holds up incredibly well and fits the WiiWare platform like a glove. The lack of local multiplayer is truly a drag, and for the price, the unlockables don’t do much to strengthen the value. That being said, Excitebike has a lot of personality, and it’s certainly a game worthy of a new lease on life.
GameTrailers – 71
Think of World Rally as more a trip down memory lane than an evolution of the series. It may be short ride, but even if just on the strength of its online multiplayer, it’s worth at least one lap around the track if you fondly remember the classic.
