Well, this is interesting news…. Shigeru Miyamoto (creator of Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Nintendogs, and much more) is set to give a keynote at the Digital Contents Expo on October 24th at 12:30 Japan time. The Digital Contents Expo will take place from October 22nd through 25th in Tokyo. Miyamoto will be giving his keynote in the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, which was the same place they premiered Final Fantasy XIII last month if anyone was curious.

I think the biggest part of this news is the fact that Miyamoto hasn’t given a keynote since the Game Developer’s Conference near the beginning of the year. The Nintendo fan in me can’t help but be hopeful that we’ll see something new. He revealed The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks at GDC and was absent at E3, plus there is the rumor of a Zelda Wii trailer in October… though I wouldn’t get too excited. Regardless, I’m sure it’ll be a great keynote to listen to since his speeches are always fun (remember the random employee kidnappings?). I’m ready for October 24th!
