Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story Dated!

Nintendo has announced the release date for the new Mario & Luigi DS RPG. Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story will be in the shops October 9th.

The story sees the evil Fawful attempting to conquer the Mushroom Kingdom by tricking Bowser into inhaling everyone inside Princess Peach’s castle, including Mario and Luigi. So the pair have to work with Bowser to stop Fawful and save the Mushroom Kingdom. But can Bowser be trusted?

You can control Mario and Luigi inside Bowser’s body on the touch screen and switch to the top screen to take charge of Bowser. Playing as Mario and Luigi, you’ll explore 2D levels set inside Bowser’s body. There are puzzles to solve, items to collect and turn-based battles to fight in. You can also spend coins in different shops.

When you’re playing as Bowser, you’ll explore a variety of outside locations, shown from an isometric top-down perspective. You’ll control Bowser for about half the game, and he has his own set of actions so you can punch enemies, breathe fire to burn down obstacles or perform stomp attacks.

Other new features include giant battles in which the Nintendo DS is held sideways/book-style, the ability to perform all of Bowser’s special attacks with the stylus, new abilities for Mario and Luigi and a stronger focus on touch screen gameplay, including additional mini games.
