The Grinder – Wii Trailer & Info

The Grinder is an upcoming first person shooter video game for the Wii, developed by High Voltage Software.

Plot

The game concerns a world where monsters such as vampires, werewolves and zombies exist and are a part of everyday life. An elite team is recruited by a contact known as Book to keep the monster population under control.

Gameplay

The player controls one of four separate characters, each with their own individual attributes, which the player will be able to upgrade. Players will have to use different techniques to defeat certain enemies, and have access to a large number of weapons, with the ability to dual wield some of them. The game will also feature the option to entirely customize controls, and will support Wii Motion Plus.

An online multiplayer mode will be included, which will make use of Wii Speak. Each level can be played co-operatively, supporting up to four players online simultaneously, and will have multiple routes.

Development

High Voltage Software previously worked on Hunter: The Reckoning and confirmed that The Grinder was influenced by that game. Left 4 Dead was also an inspiration, as were grindhouse horror films.

The game will use the Quantum 3 game engine and the developers confirmed that the game will attempt to push the amount of characters on screen to the maximum. The developers are also attempting to make the game contain no loading times.
