Not sure no lan mode is that big of a deal. Just add each other and play via wi-fi. We kinda knew about no local multiplayer a while back. They say it's because they'd have to drop the framerate if they did. Surprised they couldn't get around the Friend Codes. EA has. I probably will only get this if I have a lot of friends who get it and play online. 16-player online is pretty sweet. Mario Kart online is pretty much the best online right now (IMO).

what if the online is really laggy like brawl, then the only good thing about the game would be the campaign and that won't last forever, as long as you can play multilayer with bots or cpus I wont mind(split screens are to small to notice the amount of detail they put into it anyway)

Yeah, friend codes are confirmed as well as online leaderboards. There's also online Training courses and tournaments.

More details are soon to be revealed as we get closer to release date.

I'm just disappointed about how Nintendo doesn't allow LAN multiplayer. I guess because they saw how much of a hassle feature that it was in Double Dash.

No local multiplayer? But the whole point of FPS games is to be awesome with friends and trash talk. Hopefully Wii Speak will balance that out, but I know if I wanna spend the money on it when I'll most likely only use it for one game.

Anyone know if the online multiplayer will require friend codes? And will it have a lobby for playing with strangers like Mario Kart? Because I really love the way the Mario Kart online system works so well. If it ends up like Smash Bros' online I'll weep.

No local multiplayer on Wii... really not cool. But I guess they pushed the hardware to the limit to the extent that they can't have two players playing at the same time on the same console. Otherwise I can't see any other reason why.
