In the seven-character sequence:

A.) Samus
B.) Luigi
C.) Wario
D.) Bowser
E.) Daisy
F.) Goomba
G.) Fox McCloud

Each character after the first three is the sum of the previous three terms.

If:
Bowser = 12
Daisy = 17
Fox = 60

Determine the value of “Samus”.

ANSWER: Samus = 7.

Work backward:
Goomba = 60 – 17 -12 = 31
Wario = 31 -17 -12 = 2
Luigi = 17 -12 -2 = 3
Samus = 12 -2 -3 = 7

    Considering I have a math exam tomorrow, this is useful practice.

    A real Nintendo Mensa would know:

    (Luigi + Wario) + 12[Bowser] = 17[Daisy] -> (Luigi + Wario) = 5

    Samus + (Luigi + Wario) = 12[Bowser] ->
    Samus + 5 = 12 ->
    Samus = 7

    So we don’t care about Goomba or Fox. We don’t even care about Luigi and Wario.
