We Rock Wii drums

505 Games has announced We Rock: Drum King, a new rhythm-action game for Wii which sees players become the drummer in a band that’s on the road to global stardom.

Unlike the majority of recent rhythm games, We Rock: Drum King requires the use of only two Wii Remotes, rather than large and expensive instruments. The remotes become the player’s virtual drumsticks as they beat their way through 30 tracks, including Bloc Party’s Banquet and Born To Be Wild by Steppenwolf.

Players start on the road to fame by creating a drummer and then joining a band, before performing in a range of spectacular venues, until you’re crowned the greatest rock band in the world.

We Rock: Drum King will be released exclusively for Nintendo Wii across Europe in April 2009.

  • I think it will be a wii hit.
  • t's hard to say if this will be a big hit.

On one hand, there is no extra investment in an expensive set of drums like you need for some of the other rhythm games.

On the other hand, kids - especially the smaller ones - really like banging on things.

I think budget-conscious people will settle on it, though, and it will be a pretty big success!
  • Now this'll be interesting. I like using the Wiimote and Nunchuk better than GH or RB drum kits because I don't like to carry them with me when traveling, not to mentioning finding room for them.
Plus with air drumming, you don't hear them loud smacks while you're playing.
Like Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, it's no wonder this experience can only be enjoyed on Wii.

For now, it looks to be a more drumming Wii Music, and I hope this would have something other than pop-rock songs.
