Japan getting Manga as WiiWare in January

Something that is hugely popular in Japan and becoming very popular in the US as well is manga (essentially they’re Japanese comic books for people that don’t know). On January 6th, Sunsoft will start releasing manga as WiiWare, with the first being Princess Ai. How much is the manga going to be? The first three chapters of Princess Ai will cost 500 Wii Points total, and every two chapters after that will be 200 Wii Points each. Since the series has fiften chapters total, that’s 1700 Wii Points ($17) for the full series. That’s a nice price and it makes me wish they would bring this to the US.

Well, looks like we might have a chance of that happening. Princess Ai will be release with Japanese and English text (English version based on Tokyopop’s translation), which seems odd to me since I don’t see why many people in Japan would want to read English text. Tokyopop is known for localizing other popular manga series as well, like GTA, Love Hina, Fruits Basket, Rave Master, and more. I know many of those are popular in the US as well so I think there’s a chance Sunsoft could bring this to the US. I’m sure hoping so. Depending on what manga they bring to the US, if they did bring any, I would consider buying some.
