Gameloft talks DSi and WiiWare

GameDaily recently interviewed Gonzague de Vallois, senior VP of Publishing at Gameloft, and she had some interesting things to say. Here’s a little summary of what was discussed:

- No official word on the DSi’s US launch, but she’s heard Spring or Summer 2009 and she’s heard Q3 2009.
- Plan to release retail titles through Ubisoft that work on both the DS and DSi, but when played on a DSi, players will have access to the camera and sounds capabilites that the DSi has.
- Will focus more on DSiWare than retail DSi titles.
- Getting their DSi development kit in December.
- As of now, Nintendo limits publishers to one WiiWare title a month, but they’re thinking about removing that limit.

That sounds pretty interesting, especially the games that will work on both the DS and DSi but use DSi-specific features. They did, however, say that those titles would be through Ubisoft. Petz Bratz Cameraz anyone?
