Nintendo Channel update available now

If you try to connect to the Nintendo Channel, you’ll receive a message saying that you have to download the latest update from the Wii Shop Channel. Nobody really knows exactly what it does, but Nintendo had this to say regarding the update…

“An update that provides a behind-the-scenes enhancement to the Nintendo Channel was made available.”

The only visible difference noted so far is that the Nintendo Channel icon on the Wii Menu doesn’t have any scrolling text right now. If you notice anything, let us know, but don’t expect to find anything big since it’s just a “behind-the-scenes” update.

    It’s probably just a server tweek that requires everyone to download a patch to work with the new service…

    I have something for you to post, remember when you posted about an extra button on the japanese wii shop, well now the american wiis have it to I was wondering if you could provide more info about this ticket code button, I was experimenting with parental controls so you might need that on.

    @ abeckring – I believe that ticket code button is for the upcoming Wii Speak Channel. If you buy Wii Speak and get a code, you can enter it and download the channel. I will look into this, though, to see if there is more to it than that. Thanks!

    @hattrick: You are correct. It’s just for entering in codes for that kind of stuff. However, the US didn’t have that feature before so it’s interesting that it finally does.

    I have a problem, I can no longer use the Nintendo channel, I’ve run out of enough blocks of memory for it, it’s 122 fricken’ blocks and I’ve saved every last game I could possibly save and that would save on an SD card that is now out of room! I’ve even erased some games off My Wii and its still not enough there are some games I just don’t want to let go, I HATE Nintendo so much right now for giving the Wii so little memory, I can no longer use the Nintendo Channel unless I free up more space on My Wii and I don’t want to get rid of anything else! Could anyone help Me out here? I REALLY REALLY HATE NINTENDO FOR THIS!

    @Neaok – Yeah, I had a similar problem. However, it looks like it only needs this space to initially download it. It gets rid of the excess after the update.

    The interface seen when you download a DS demo has changed.. What an upgrade, huh? Though I guess it looks prettier..

    I think it’s the animated trasition that have been made. i’ve noticed that the wii curser moves slower than normal on the channel, does any1ne else have the problem?
