Apple Rips on Nintendo DS and Sony PSP November 11, 2008

From T3’s Interview with Apple’s Greg Joswiak:

“And the gameplay I think has surprised a lot of people, because it’s not just the casual games. There are real 3D games, and it’s hard to imagine we’re only a little over 100 days into it. There are already so many games and as we look at it, to us it really seems this is the future of gameplay. Whereas a lot of these devices [Nintendo DS and Sony PSP] are more in the past. And a big part of that is not just the device itself, which is easier to carry, and has the touch display and accelerometer which is great for gameplay, but it’s the electronic distribution of the apps as well.”

Aw, no, Apple, don’t take shots at the superior gaming devices. As an iPod Touch and Nintendo DS owner, I gotta say, the no-button interface of the touch is NOT conducive to anything but casual games.

Hey they can try but it really dosnt hold water. I’ve got an iPhone and yeah it’s a great device but when it comes to gaming the best game is Vay which is an old Sega CD RPG. There is no way it’s better than DS or PSP. Yes the games are downloadable but the PSP also has that and the DS will be having that with the DSi.

Yes the ipod touch has good 3d graphics BUT thats only becouse the 3d games are very basic. They wouldnt be able to run a full 3d game as good as a nds could run it. It would freeze up. And has anyone noticed wii had motion controls before the iphone came out! And the ds had touch before any cell phone company were even thinking of putting touch screens on their phones!
