Nintendo to increase Wii production for holiday season November 3, 2008

Filed under: News — boggie @ 4:45 pm

It’s amazing to think that a full 2 years has passed since the Wii was launched and it can still be difficult to get your hands on one. In a recent interview with the LA Times Reggie admitted that Wii production was up from 1.6 million units per month (during this period last year) to 2.4 million units per month now. He didn’t go as far as saying that you won’t have a hard time finding one and in fact said that “once you see one on the shelf, you ought to buy it”. He also said that they will be shipping more copies of WiiFit stateside with the increase in the $ against the euro.

This is some promising news, good to see that Nintendo are finally doing something about the shortages as the holiday season is always huge business for them.

They're always in stock around here, but I never saw them in stock while I was in California.
  • Well isn't that a rare sight. I haven't seen any in stock since the Hollywood Video liquidation.
That photo must've been taken at Target.
