DLC for Guitar Hero 3/Aerosmith? We wish! November 3, 2008

Apparently, the Wii versions of Guitar Hero 3 & Aerosmith for Wii has some downloadable content.  At least, that is what the “message of the day” says.  Check it out below.  (Obviously, they did not think about this message being untrue for Wii customers.)  If only Activision/Neversoft figured out they could use the SD cards for DLC (or got the rights to so) before World Tour.  Although, I personally am all right with this.  I would rather have all my downloadable songs in this game instead of buying them and never going back to them again (probably what I’ll do with GH3).  Who knows what will happen when the next entry comes along.  Maybe importing…

  • What we need is some more DLC. I know the game's still new so I'm not concerned yet. But still, I find myself playing Mega Man remixes more this week than the actual game =p

    @Gyllen Drage: You're confusing what I said. I said many different things, those points weren't meant to be put together. Yes, the message of day was the same. No, GH3 can't get DLC. I didn't mean to get to the second point using the first point, as it may have seemed. As for Pay and Play, we'll have to see. There aren't many titles to be able to tell that.
  • Yeah, guys. I know there is no such thing as DLC for GH3/Aerosmith on Wii. And yes they were lazy and just created the same message for all systems. That was the funny thing. This was not meant to be proof of DLC. It was meant to show how lazy they were in doing this. Please read the paragraph above the video. It should have explained that. (Since reading your comment, though, I did add one extra sentence to make sure more people don't misunderstand.)

    DarkWish sorry you are wrong, it is simply a matter of GH3 and GH:WT's message of the day being the same, I am not disagreeing that GH3 hasn't got any DLC, but your interpretation of it is wrong.

    Also the Pay and Play logo is only for Paid for DLC, If I released a game that had "hooks" for DLC, but decided never to charge for the DLC, and released everything free, then that game would not have to have the P&P logo.
  • No offense hattrick, but this story is totally untrue. It's obvious that the message refers to the other systems and they were just lazy and didn't create a message specifically for Wii owners. There is absolutely NO way that Guitar Hero III or Aerosmith could have DLC. The same goes for all those other already released titles, like Brawl, Galaxy, Mario Kart Wii, etc. The ability to receive DLC is not in the game, therefor it's not possible.

    Any game that has DLC will have the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Pay to Play logo. That's why Guitar Hero: World Tour, Samba de Amigo, and some other titles have it, because they have DLC. In other words, the message of the day refers to the other consoles and Wii owners will not be getting DLC on GH3/Aerosmith.
