    Nice!

    I’m so tired of mature content games being referred to as hardcore. This game looks shallow, easy, and far from my opinion of hardcore. Hardcore should refer to challenging games that will take time to master and hone your skills in, games with a steep learning curve, and packed with so many unlockables that only the most dedicated of players will completely unlock everything. Maybe this game is that… but none of us know that yet. We should stop calling simple violent games “hardcore”, because that infers that gamers with brain power seek nothing more than to shed digital blood and rip off mangled limbs with a chainsaw.

    With that said… I’m really looking forward to this game, it looks like crazy, awesome fun!

    I have to agree with you, Mack2D2. I am a hardcore gamer, and I have never owned (althoug I have played) Mature rated games. I think that games like Zelda are hardcore. Really, you get some casual gamer playing Mortal Kombat, and they might be able to whip you with mere button mashing. The same person couldn’t hope to beat Zelda.

    I agree on the definition of hardcore. Thing is, most people seem to associate hardcore with mature titles, so that’s why I chose that word. Everyone seems to think of it as “hardcore” and had I said otherwise, I’d have to then launch into an explanation that didn’t fit in the post. But the two of you seem to sum up my thoughts, so thanks.

    Lol, yeah I have submitted to the common view a few times, also. I understand that :P

    Isn’t it for wiiware?

  • DarkWish

    @JamesT: Uh… no. How did you get the impression that it would be? It’s definitely a full retail title.

    @Mack2D2

    If that is so, then Wii Music is hardcore because there are a lot of unlockables and certain parts can be quite challenging for some people.

    But you’re right. Hardcore is a term they use on deep, engaging game play. You just get sucked in to it for some time. A lot of gamers are into blood, violence, and decapitation. They get so into it that it gets addicting.

    Some are in it for the kills. Some are in it for the challenges. Some are in it for achievements. Some are in it for the art. And some are in it cause it’s plain fun.

    Just as long as we keep on playing, that’s Hardcore.
