Toys “R” Us to giveaway special Level 50 Dragonite

Pokemon fans, it’s another one of those giveaways. This time, it’s at Toys “R” Us and actually isn’t for a big legendary Pokemon. On November 8th and 9th, from noon to 4 pm, those in the US and Puerto Rico will be able to take their Diamond and Pearl games and download a special Level 50 Dragonite. What makes it so special? Well, Dragonair normally evolves into Dragonite at Level 55, so since this one is Level 50, you’ll be able to use it in official tournaments. Nintendo Power recently revealed more details on the Dragonite as well.

The Level 50 Dragonite will come with a Yache Berry (reduces Ice-type damage) and its moves are Outrage (normally learned at Level 64), Dragon Dance (normally learned at Level 53), Thunderbolt, and Draco Meteor. Those that go to Toys “R” Us will also get a poster for Pokemon Ranger: Shadow of Almia. I’m liking these giveaways, though I would prefer them to do it via the Nintendo Channel. Anyone else agree?

By publishing it on the Nintendo channel, it would span a much larger audience (Including myself, living in the EU lacks the kind of effort NA recieves), but being primarily aimed at the younger audience, won’t there be some introductory issues to tell the kids they’re not going to TRU anymore to meet new ‘rivals’ and get a new Pokemon, but go through a complicated process (which I’m assuming it would be for them.) to download a new Pokemon.

What I’m trying to say here, is Pokemon is a very social game, bringing people closer together. So if Nintendo were perhaps to do both, the TRU events for the younger kids, and Nintendo Channel download for the older age bracket whom recieves strange looks from parents at events (This isn’t me I’m talking about I swear!), reaching both audiences.
