Mother 3 Fan Translation Finished – Out This Week!

cattoff The devoted fans of the Mother series (known in America as EarthBound) are finally finished with their translation project for the Japan only sequel to EarthBound, known as Mother 3. It will be released at the end of this week.

Mother 3 (2006, GBA, Nintendo) is a game best described by its own slogan: “Strange, funny, and heartrending.” Although I have not yet beaten the game (my own genuine copy of the game came in Saturday), I can tell you that even without the upcoming patch Mother 3 is a must-have game. With its foreigner-friendly menu and item system and perhaps a walkthrough, it is an easy to play and very easy to enjoy game.

Plus, even when you aren’t playing it, you can turn your DS/GBA into a music player, picking your favorite tracks from the game and setting up a playlist from its incredible soundtrack.

EarthBound, Mother 3′s predecessor, was an RPG for the SNES. It was something of a commercial failure, despite heavy advertising. But, despite its lack of sales, it has spawned a considerably large and devoted cult following.

How can you support this project? You can support the translation by supporting the genius behind the Mother series: Buy an official copy of Mother 3.

Well, that’s a wrap. I’m ready, are you?

Disclaimer: The translation is NOT a ROM. It is a PATCH. Neither WiiNintendo nor the translating team will distribute ROMs.
