WiiNintendo.net 1UPing Disasters: Ike Video Submissions #2 October 1, 2008
For those that don’t know what “WiiNintendo.net 1UPing Disasters†is, let me briefly explain. It’s a project that Wii Nintendo is doing to help out victims of various disasters. It started out as a smaller project started by Charmy entitled “Ike’ll Get No Sympathy From Us”, with a focus on helping victims of Hurricane Ike. We asked people to submit videos of Super Smash Bros. Brawl where the character Ike loses, as a representation of us fighting Hurricane Ike and “defeating†it. Since then, the American Red Cross has contacted us to show their support for this project and we have expanded our project to include all disasters in America. We will be hosting many events to try and raise funds in the future, and we’ll even have prizes to give away. We are gathering donations, which can be given directly to the American Red Cross’s Disaster Relief Fund by donating at http://american.redcross.org/wii. For full details, check out the post here.
We’ve already received two videos, and now I have two more for all of you. The following two videos were sent to me by people who main Ike in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. They realized that this cause was worth beating up their main character, and so they submitted these videos. The first video is from TWILTHERO on the Smash Boards.
The second email I received via email from Callow/Blaze. Him and his friend, StRiP/w0lf, wanted to create a video to help the cause, so they recorded a video of the two of them. Both of them are advanced Brawl players and wanted to help out, so you can check out their submission below.
Thank you TWILTHERO, Callow/Blaze, and StRiP/w0lf for submitting your videos! We are looking to get prizes for things we do for our project, and we may give out a prize to one of the people that submits an Ike video, so submit yours soon! You can submit your videos to DarkWish@wiinintendo.net. If you would like to donate, you can do so here. Every little bit counts, so please donate!
