Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time coming to DS, playable on Wii October 1, 2008

Square Enix has announced a new Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles title for the DS, that is playable on Wii also. The game, entitled Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time, was announced in the latest Shonen Jump magazine. Below is what we know about teh game so far:
- Releases on January 29th, 2009 in Japan for the DS
- Can connect the DS to Wii, allowing you to play the game on your Wii
- Can play on Wii and DS at the same time, thanks to the Pollux Engine that Square Enix created
- You can play online on either your Wii or your DS and play together with people on either one
- There is different gameplay for both ways of playing the game (stylus or Wii Remote)
- The story revolves around the character Charlotta and a mysterious crystal
- You can even use your Mii as your character’s face on Wii, as well as being able to transfer that character to the DS game
Wow, a DS game that has bonus features for playing on Wii (originally, I wrote the article saying there were two versions, my mistake). That’s like the opposite of what you would expect, so that’s awesome. I hope it releases in the US, since I would love to try out those features. One thing came to mind when I read this news though… what the heck happened to Crystal Bearers?
