RUMOR: Next Nintendo system to release by 2011 September 30, 2008

Before I continue, I have to mention that it’s obvious that Nintendo is working on their next console. That’s simply how the production cycle works. Anyways, there’s a rumor now that Nintendo is showing early presentations of their next system to game developers. The sources have begun to refer to it as “Wii HD”, and have mentioned a few details. It supposedly has high definition visuals, a greater emphasis on digital content and backwards compatibility, some sort of storage medium (like a hard drive maybe), and places an emphasis on how the user will interact with the system rather than the console itself, like with Wii. To be honest, regardless of if this is true or not, all of this just seems like obvious news. I’m thinking that the earliest we may ever hear about Nintendo’s next console will be next year, but it could be later than that. I wonder how it will be more interactive than Wii. Maybe it’ll be similar to the mock-up picture above.

    the sad thing is that you will soon write a book, shop, and incorporate your daily life needs into these systems. They are advanced computers that are conquering our entertainment requirements first. when you think abotu a computer you don't think graphics and really cool sh1t right away - you're ignorant to just call it a toy. All tech is tested in different ways before made into real use. you're ignorant.

    Yea, I don't like where Nintendo is heading with their consoles. I want to play a game with a controller not waggle around. I think it's just stupid and unnecessary. I think they are going to drop all of their hard-core fans and just do casual games.(Isn't that what they have done already?)Let's face it, The Wii is a toy and nothing more.

    they need to make games more like the classics... i still love nintendo but they need better games... maybe another game like earthbound (a sequel with the same characters works for me that in available in the usa.) or another legend of zelda game would be good.. i dont recall any bad zelda games. mario is great too, but galaxy was kinda easy.. ok really easy but still pretty fun.

    the next system in the future, I know it would be HD form but in the future, it would have a 4D effect whare you would wear 3D glasses and when you play that game, everything would come right out of the screen and it will be like having your own home theme park ride at home I've seen something like that on Discovery

    I got to ammit that Nintendo system becomes an egg sucker gonna trash every 5 to 6 years because when nintendo update the system, all the games would be sold out, because nintendo keeps on updating every 5-6 years,XBox and Playstation product has a long lasting protuctions of games than nintendo because they both last almost 10 years

    i ask if the wii hd will have the portables console available like the snes with the super gameboy and the ngc with the super gameboy therefor will there be a gameboy wi-fi or soomething on the new wii hd in order to play the few portables system except for the dual scren game because you would have to use the stylus on the tv. anyhow i would appreciate a feed back

    What is with all the news lately about new consoles in 2011? The PS4, XBOX 720, and now Super Wii/Wii HD? To me, it really doesn't make any sense to have new systems out so soon, when many people are just picking up the current generation now. What we have now is really JUST picking up, in my opinion - just now getting into the swing of what each system is really about. I just really can't see gamers as ready for a new generation.

    Though if they actually do something like that It'll be hard to get the price under a couple million per unit & still make any kind of profit...

    Personally I've kinda come to vew the Wii as the NES ver 2.0 as it's taking everything that first made Nintendo great & ether re-inventing it or simply putting a fresh new spin on it... (For better or worse this also includes all the crap that everyone eventually forgot about as well)

    So I'm hoping for the "Super Wii" to bring bake the golden days again...
