Wii Channel Choices.

So Wii Weigh In is where we your humble correspondents weigh in with our personal opinions and comments on industry trends, and other topics.

I will start with a topic that has been beating to death over, and over, and over. Wii Channels! Yes the wii channels we would love to see on our menus every time we boot up our trusty machine. This time we aren’t just talking about how and why we want them, but how they can actually benefit Nintendo! Crazy I know, but I am just that way.

My first and number one pick would be a Tv Channel, I know everyone says this and its easy to see why, but how could this be done? Well if you have recently had a look at, or have one of the newer Verizon phones, you might of had the chance to to use its Mobile TV. You get it wherever you are, it comes in fast, with clear picture, and there is no buffering! Now how can Nintendo benefit from such an awesome channel? Well let us look at Verizon they do a simple plan that cost around $10 a month, which is something I and many others would be more then happy to pay. I believe (though I am not an expert) that this could simply be done via wireless router, and is something that would give Nintendo a edge over the competition!

My second choice is easily an updated News channel, but please don’t use such a crappy system (not that some news channel tech isn’t cool). Ever since Rupert Murdoch saw the wii channel and said “How can we make money off this” I thought about it, well I came up with a solution for our inquisitive little billionaire. Nintendo can let Fox News (Rupert Owns), and the likes of CNN and NBC run the News Channel. They can have their on section inside that channel, and have their top news stories, their top tv shows and whatever else they fancy. How will this help Nintendo? I believe the company’s would pay Nintendo to be put on the channel and with there being 23,282,616 Wii’s in people’s homes it would be a very worthy investment.

My final choice would be something that would set Nintendo apart from the Competition. It would be an entertainment channel. This little all channel would have movie show-times for local theaters, movie previews, and upcoming releases. It would also dive into every other category like tv show previews, music videos, coming sport coverage and even add commentary for everything. It would be Wii’s Entertainment Capital and how would it help, it would totally set Nintendo apart, and whats not good about that?
