Is ‘Mega Man 9′ The Hardest ‘Mega Man’ Ever? September 25, 2008

For those of us who are not totally sick of Mega Man 9 coverage yet…
Thirty-two minutes into playing my WiiWare version of “Mega Man 9,†I have only managed to defeat one robotic boss.
Remember me breezing through most “Mega Man†stages without dying? That is not the case at all with “Mega Man 9.†In fact, it’s the exception; I’m barely making it past the first checkpoint before rediscovering the Game Over screen.
I’ve never had this much trouble with a “Mega Man†game before. There are a couple of reasons for that…
The original “Mega Man†is arguably the hardest game in the series, but I’m hard pressed to believe that’s because Keiji Inafune and his team at Capcom intended to make something bitterly difficult to screw with players’ heads; that’s just how games were designed back then. Games of that era were ridiculously difficult and “Mega Man†was no different.

I totally agree. At 45 min in I beat 3 bosses. I go back and I can’t beat anymore of them. I’ve spent quite a bit of time playing the game past that 45 min mark but I keep getting my butt handed to me.
I FINALLY beat my first boss! Galaxy Man is history!
When is it out in PAL regions?
I’m at the final boss but I keep dying, then I have to go through 8 boss master re-encounters again and again. :/
I haven’t turned off my wii yet, If I do I’ll have to start again from level 1 of Wily’s fortress
I finally beat Megaman 9!
I beat Megaman twice so far, and I’m planning on getting the ‘Daily Dose’ challenge today(beat Megaman 9 once a day for three days). This could be done a lot more easily by saving after the eight robot masters, and only needing to go through the Wily stages, but I’m not doing that.
I didn’t find Megaman 9 too hard, but then again, I played through all of ‘I Wanna Be The Guy’(hardest game ever made, search it up on Google or YouTube, it’s a free download) on Hard mode.
I find games where you die in one hit challenging(Contra, Battletoads, etcetera).
By the way, I made a few pretty good Time Attack runs.
I got 1:27 on the Concrete Man stage, and I’m planning on improving that.
I got about 1:44 on the Splash Woman stage. I’m still about five seconds from the rankings.
I got 1:58 on the Jewel Man stage, which isn’t that great if you know the right tricks to use.
Good luck beating my times!
