Pokemon Platinum coverage!

I now am in possession of Pokemon Platinum. I will keep a blog with all the latest details, and you can view that when you hit the jump. I’ll try and post plenty of screenshots as well. If you have any questions or want to see anything, let me know. I don’t know Japanese, but I will try my best to get through the game. It shouldn’t be too hard to figure things out. Warning: There may be spoilers ahead!

Below is the latest on my Platinum adventure. The beginning is at the end, so you’ll have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of this text to read my journey from the beginning.

- Okay, another level 2 Bidoof caught. This time, I named it Slave (it’ll be my HM Slave). It’s probably going to be the only Pokemon I nickname lol. I think I’m done for now. Look for more screens up later today and hopefully I can play some more later as well.
- I caught a Bidoof (level 2 I think). I wanted to nickname it, but it seems I pressed the wrong button. Oh well, I can just catch another Bidoof lol.
- I decided to buy some potions and Pokeballs. By the way, my Chimchar is at level 8 now. I think I’m going to try and catch a Pokemon now.
- I just thought I’d mention I love the new animations. Starly’s is especially cute.
- My Chimchar is now at level 7 and learned Ember. I’m just level grinding a little bit before I continue.
- Now Dawn is taking me on a tour of Sandgem Town. She’s showing me the Pokemon Center and a PokeMart. And she’s finally gone so I can explore on my own.
- Okay, that music played meaning I just got an item or something. I see the number 27 so I assume it’s a TM. Yup, there’s a little CD thing next to it, so it’s got to be a TM. Too bad I won’t be able to tell what the TM is.
- Looks like I now have a Pokedex. It looks the same… just in Japanese of course.
- Okay, I’m at level 6 now. I accidentally went too far to the right and Dawn spotted me. She took me to Professor Rowan’s place and MOMZ comes running out.
- While fighting a wild Starly, the real MOMZ suggested I level grind, so I’ll have to wait a bit to continue in the game lol.
- I encountered my first wild Pokemon, and it was Bidoof. I wanted to try and go through the menus to see where everything was, and I accidentally fled lol. Oh well, I’m sure there’s five million more Bidoofs where that one came from.
- Ugh, my laptop is starting to really heat up as it always does. *gets a fan* Okay, now I can continue. The cry of Mesprit (I think that’s the one) is heard and MOMZ seems to freak out and leaves. I guess I’ll leave too.
- When I was going to leave, MOMZ talked to me. Now he’s following me so let’s see where I have to go next. Okay, so I’m at one of the lakes (I forgot its name). Everyone has to keep in mind that I’m not a super hardcore Pokemon fan, so I don’t have all the town names and locations memorized. I also don’t remember the names of the people in the game. At the lake, we see a blue haired guy. *Does a quick search* Okay, so I’m at Lake Verity and the blue haired person is Cyrus.
- Looks like she gave me something, probably the running shoes. Yup, it’s the running shoes.
- How unfortunate, I lost a battle to my rival. Now I’m back at home talking to my mom.
- There’s the briefcase with the three starters. Hmm… which to choose? I think I’ll go with Chimchar.
- And I’m back! I’m going to play this game for the next hour or so, so keep checking for more details. Okay, it’s darker out now and it looks pretty cool.
- Okay, I started my file. The intro was pretty sweet. I named myself DARK and my rival is MOMZ. I’m now with MOMZ talking to Professor Rowan. I don’t know what’s going on really, but it’s similar to D/P. Okay, now Dawn came and they said more stuff in Japanese. So now they’re all standing around me and I got the chance to save, so I did. I have to head to class, but I’ll continue more later. I took plenty of screens, so look for those soon.
- I am about to begin playing Pokemon Platinum. I have about 20 minutes until I have to go to my next class though.
