Chrono Trigger fans have no need to worry, it’s not delayed

null

Many people are excited for Chrono Trigger DS and can’t wait to get their hands on it. However, an Amazon listing and an email showed that the game was being delayed until early 2009, which is when Europe is getting the game. People were angry, but it seems they have no reason to be anymore. At an event, Square-Enix was asked about the release date and they were as confused as we were about the supposed delay. Square-Enix cleared things up and said that the game is not being delayed, and is still releasing on November 25th, 2008 in the US. My guess is that the release dates were confused and the European release date, which is early 2009, was mistaken for the US one.

Huh… Well this is the first I’ve even heard of the matter… No biggy I suppose…

I’m more worried at this point about the Anime cut seens being more properly fit in then how they were just thrown in the PSone port… The extra dungeon is kinda a consern as well…

It could either be something wonderful like a expanded explanation on the late night forest campfire seen or perhaps even going as far as incorporating a re-masterd version of Radical Dreamers ala Final Fantasy II Dawn of Souls…

OR it could be just a pointless half-assed excuse to buy the game all over again assuming all the other stuff doesn’t do it for you…

On that note all the PSone port’s flaws have been fixed and assuming you somehow don’t like the Anime cut seens or the games fixed dialog or even the new double screen interface, they actually went as far as to include the entire original SNES game as well…

And while that might sound like no big deal to you, bare in mind that one DS screen has roughly half the pixel count of a standard tv set… In other words they would have had to of professionally resized the game in order to look good on the DS just as they did with the main port…

Is this the new boxart, complete with IGN watermark?

I kid, but actually it be kinda neat. sans watermark.

@Gewurztraminer: If you mean the new logo, then I believe so. As you can see, I found it on IGN so it probably is the new logo.

Actually for one reason or another instead of doing something original they decided to give the DS port the exact same cover art as the SNES box… Fire casting Marle & all…

Maybe THAT has something to do with the new dungeon… @_@

I dunno… Having the characters have their powers swapped would be interesting…

I can see Magus doing Marle’s provoke taunt now… “shivers”

  • Shinrin

She’s not casting Fire, she’s doing Arc Impulse

Then wouldn’t Crono’s sword be turning blue with Ice as it does in the game?…

Ya know… As opposed to catching on fire… o_@
