Ten Reasons to Stay Loyal to Nintendo

#1. Nintendo still has Miyamoto, and his work slate is now clear.
#2. First-party WiiWare is happening, and that has massive potential.
#3. Wario Land: Shake It!
#4. Nintendo happily employs a 55-year old man who behaves like this.

#5. Third-party developers are seriously getting their [crap] together.
#6. It’s easy to forget how many good games are already out for the Wii.
#7. Wii MotionPlus could turn out to be really good.
#8. Reggie.
#9. Until recently, Nintendo hasn’t been skimping on the hardcore games.
#10. Cammie reminds us of a Wallace & Gromit character. And we like Wallace & Gromit.

  • Charmy

That made me laugh! :D Nice find.

  • Krishna

Thats 1 dumb top 10. Sorry to say.

But Im abt to throw my Wii out of the window cause of the 1st shooters game no appearing on the Wii. Not 1 cool, great, unique 1st person shooter is comming out this year. NOT A SINGLE ONE! Only some stupid war in the old days games.

I WANT GAMES LIKE THE CONDUIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • http://wiinintendo.net/ hattrick

from what i hear, they are coming Krishna. you just gotta be patient. (i.e. Madworld, Fatal Frame IV, Dead Rising, Overlord, The Conduit, Mushroom Men, Deadly Creatures, Spore, Facebreaker, Sam & Max, Tenchu…)

  • Dylan

we have already waited almost 2 years to get some good games from nintendo, pay an extra $30 and get a premium 360 its much more worth your money

  • http://wiinintendo.net/ hattrick

fyi – the 360 has been out quite a bit longer, hence more games.

  • backflip

    LOYAL?!??!?

I DON’T NEED TO BE LOYAL TO ANY BULL**** COMPANY AT ALL!!!

**** loyalty. As a consumer I want the best and I want it NOW. There is NO reason for anyone to be “loyal” to a company. Would you not buy a 360 just because you want to be “loyal” to Nintendo? That’s the stupidest bull**** I’ve ever heard.

@hattrick: So now we are making excuses for Nintendo? If Microsoft has better games, I’m getting that system. Period. The fact that the 360 got a headstart on the competition is an advantage for not only Microsoft but the consumer as well. As a consumer I don’t spend my money on consoles that need excuses in order to compare to the competition.

  • Dan

It’s sad that people like Krishna and Dylan have lowered their standards enough to only want FPS games. I mean, with a 360, there’s little diversity. Alas, a conversation for another day.

I’m proud that Nintendo continues to expand and allow its gamers a wide array of new material (WiiMotion Plus, Megaman 9, Wario Land! Shake It) in addition to games that STILL captivate attention of the media at large (Wii Sports, anyone?) Plus, with games now being semi-ported to the Wii (Rockband, Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop!), Nintendo’s future is bright.

    Thank you.

  • Shimoru

    They had me at #4.

  • Roflcopter

all of these reasons don’t pull me in even in the slightest.

Everyone knows loyalty is dead nowadays, even your banks want to screw you over.

  • http://wiinintendo.net/ hattrick

@ backflip – No, just stating a fact. Yes, Microsoft did make a smart move by jumping out early and it’s paying off for them. That’s all.

And even though it might be hard for some to believe, there are people (consumers) out there who are loyal to certain companies. Sure they are frustrated with them at times, but they would rather buy their product over others. There are many reasons one would become loyal. The fact is that it does happen with some people.

  • Nintendog66

The only reason why I’m still “loyal” to Nintendo is because they make my Pokemon, Metroid, Animal Crossing, Smash, Mario, Fire Emblem, Kirby and Zelda games. They ****** us up really bad at E3 and yet you people still want more?

I still dislike Microsoft because if they “win” the console wars and take over the gaming industry, they’ll simply kill it… and I don’t want that to happen. Then there’s Sony, which apparently listen to their costumers and improve their console as much a they can to keep up but there aren’t enough games on the PS3 to make me buy one. So the only solution is PC gaming, which is perfect to say the least, just bought an ATi 4850 and my games fly even on my very old computer.=D

  • ttam

I agree with Nintendog66. Just because the way they presented their products at E3 was quite disappointing, it doesn’t mean that we should be frustrated. Nintendo decided to not present a majority of their products at E3 but instead on their own. We found out later, many sequels may be coming out and lots to look forward.

As a result, I wish people would stop complaining that E3 sucked for the Nintendo fans (although it did), you’re leaving out what was mentioned later.

Getting back on topic, I think a few people here are overreacting.

  • Robotron

I am loyal to no company….and why should anyone be?
They all care about one thing….money. The best description I have seen for Nintendo is here(#257-waiting):
    http://www.vgcats.com/comics/
Nintendo is thrilled about the casual gamer and that is where their focus is. Good for them, but that’s not where I am.
As for E3 it’s funny how they switched places with Sony from a few years ago to become the laughing stock.

I own all the systems (including the portables) and my PS3 gets the most usage. My 360 was dead (again….5th time) so I finally sent it in. I got it back and figured I would go on Live again since I hadn’t in over a year. What a joke Live has become. It’s the place to whore every little thing you can for money….like desktop pictures, gamer icons and themes (things I am now use to getting for free on PSN).

I started this “new gen” with a 360 (which was DOA) then a Wii (foolishly I thought they would save this “gen”) and then lastly the PS3 a year later. The 360 is ignored for fear of more RRoD and the worst service known to man (can I get a support guy who speaks english please and doesn’t call me “Mr. Firstname”). The Wii is ignored because of lack of titles and the lack of interest from Nintendo. The PS3 is getting used. I like the dollar store pricing on items and some of the current games (MGS, Ratchet, Elephunk). There may be hope here…..but then again it’s Sony and they just love to drop the ball.

I do enjoy my DS and PSP. The PSP seems to really be picking up steam and with the addition of emulators (nothing like playing my old SegaCD games on a portable) movies, connectivity, good support (so far….crosses fingers) and some great games. The new Phantasy Star looks great. Hope it comes out over here.

So let’s not put our “faith” in these companies because in the end the only thing you will get is anger and dissapointment.

  • Clonemenace

I find it funny that a Nintendo based fansite shows so much hate towards Nintendo. I also find it funny that people think E3 will spell the end for Nintendo. I’m also convinced most gamers are afraid of change.

  • hey_suburbia

I’ve only owned Nintendo Consoles/handhelds since 1985 and it will always remain that way.

  • http://www.wiinintendo.net hattrick

same here, hey_suburbia…ever since the NES. except i do own a Dreamcast now. just got it a couple months ago. :-)

  • Dylan

  • http://www.videogamedc.com Potatoman

I had a PS2 until it got really dusty and when I cleaned it the little sliver connection to the power and eject buttons tore =P It would have cost more to fix it the to get a new console.

  • http://google.com Potato

heh, Wario Land Shake is all the way up there huh?
