New Video, Screens, and Interview for The Conduit July 10, 2008

Filed under: Interview, News, Screens/Images, Videos — DarkWish @ 4:54 pm

Ever since The Conduit has been announced, I have been following its latest developments. It’s a FPS title that looks amazing for a Wii game and it just looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun. Well, thanks to IGN, we now have a new video, which you can see above. IGN also posted some new screens and an interview, and I have posted some interesting tidbits from the interview below.

  • The Conduit will be shown at E3 behind closed doors and demos will be given to a select few, like IGN.
  • The E3 demo, which is what the video is of, is of the first half of one of the later missions in the game.
  • Demo is set on the Easy difficulty.
  • Currently, the single player is just being tested for bugs and being fine tuned, and the majority of development is focused on multiplayer now.
  • The controls will be fully customizable, like mapping buttons and motions as well as cursor settings and more.
  • Currently, online play features 16 players and will have Deathmatch and Capture the Flag.

Graphics realy arent that great, theyre somewhat good for wii standards though. Apperently they've never heard of physics and I hope to god they renew those sound effects.

In the words of Team America: F@CK YEA!!!

And to base this company's work on a Wiiware title that really wasnt made for its depth anyway (check most Wiiware titles) is kinda low-balling them.

The game is already better looking than most games on the Wii, which is great to begin with. They are going to keep the polish comin'. :)

I just hope the story is a great one to build on.

All I keep hearing about is how great The Conduit will be. Is anyone else just a little skeptical? I bought Gyrostar on WiiWare hoping to get a feel for High Voltage's style and was sorely dissapointed. I agree that the graphics are coming along nicely, but at the end of the day I think the game is going to lack polish and feel very sloppy. Here's hoping I'm wrong.
