Yah, I did read that article after I had made that post.

I must say that I do like the idea of it. (Getting a new NES game after all these years)

Especially from someone whose mind seems to be in the right place regarding its development. IMO

'Why?' is a very interesting question.
About Nintendo going back to its is general the whole idea of the Wii (and Nintendo DS), but all that is a different story.

This is more about the creator and designer (now producer), Keiji Infune, going back to His roots as a designer when he first started the series back on NES.

Check out the previous article of Keiji Infune's interview about Mega Man 9, and you'll get a gist of it.

I think it's for two main reasons...

For one it's being made exclusively for the Nintendo Wii and Capcom wanted to strongly stress the whole "Returning to it's Nintendo roots" thing...

And for the other, Those NES days are still etched into many gamers minds as Mega Mans best without question... So...

I'm curious as to why Capcom would revert back to 8bit era when Megaman 7 and 8 were 16 and 32 bit. Oh well... they are finally doing a real Megaman game for once since Megaman X3
