Galaxy Man – A Portal-like level, where Mega Man is flung from point to point, using his momentum from each subsequent journey to propel himself further forward.

Plug Man – Contains the obligatory “disappearing block” puzzle.

Hornet Man – As the name suggests, there’s bees here – and lots of ‘em.

Jewel Man – Full of perilous swinging platforms to traverse.

Magma Man – Again, the clue’s in the name. Lots of lava and danger of instant death.

Concrete Man – Like Guts Man from previous games in the series.

Tornado Man – Said to be an incredibly difficult level set in mid-air, and complete with gut-wrenching leaps and spinning platforms.

Splash Woman – Yup, it’s a lady robot master designed by Inafune himself. Her level includes a bubble puzzle reminiscent of Mega Man 5.

Yah, I did read that article after I had made that post.

I must say that I do like the idea of it. (Getting a new NES game after all these years)

Especially from someone whose mind seems to be in the right place regarding its development. IMO
  • 'Why?' is a very interesting question.
About Nintendo going back to its is general the whole idea of the Wii (and Nintendo DS), but all that is a different story.

This is more about the creator and designer (now producer), Keiji Infune, going back to His roots as a designer when he first started the series back on NES.

Check out the previous article of Keiji Infune's interview about Mega Man 9, and you'll get a gist of it.

I think it's for two main reasons...

For one it's being made exclusively for the Nintendo Wii and Capcom wanted to strongly stress the whole "Returning to it's Nintendo roots" thing...

And for the other, Those NES days are still etched into many gamers minds as Mega Mans best without question... So...
  • I'm curious as to why Capcom would revert back to 8bit era when Megaman 7 and 8 were 16 and 32 bit. Oh well... they are finally doing a real Megaman game for once since Megaman X3
