Retro Review: Lethal Weapon July 1, 2008

Filed under: Exclusive, Reviews — Taylor @ 3:30 pm

lethal weaponFirst post! Woo!

Anyway, a few days ago, I bought a gameboy from one of my dads friends. Lucky for me, he forgot to take the game out before he gave it to me! Unlucky for me, it was Lethal Weapon.

Having never seen the movie, (gimme a break, I was born in ‘92) I dont know the story. The plot of the game is as follows…

Level 1:Infultrate a group of hoods dealing eith illegal currency exchanges, and prevent them from robbing the mall

Level 2: A cache of police weapons has been stolen with the help of an insider. Track them down!

Level 3:Confront the ex-policeman who is behind the gang!

So pretty much beat up the bad guys, beat up bad guys, and beat up bad guys. There are two playable characters, Riggs and Murtaugh. I think Riggs is the one with the mullet, but I may be wrong. You can switch between the two whenever you want. There are subtle differences between them. Riggs flying kick is twice as strong as his partner’s, but Murtaugh’s punch is stronger than Rigg’s standing kick. Riggs runs faster, but Murtaugh is the only one that can pick up boxes. (???) Weapons include fists, guns, granades, and the like.

This game is either way easy or annoying, but never hard. The graphics suck, even for the time. The sound is decent, but it’s a gameboy game, so you probably wont even listen to it. All in all, I wouldnt recomend it, not that any of you really have much of an oppertunity to buy it. But hey, what do you want for a free gameboy game?

I pretty much covered the whole game. I planned for this to be longer, but there’s not much to the game. Meh. Guess it’s a mini-review…

    "miss spelled words"

But sadly, Firefox won't pick up words that are used incorrectly, just the misspelled ones :P
  • Yeah, I don't take into consideration bloggers' ages when I agree to let them blog. I wrote and published a zine (20,000) copies published at the age of 15. I feel that young people have a lot of passion and I hold nothing against them.

Just a tip for Taylor, if you use the Firefox browser miss spelled words will show up with a red underline and if you right click on it you'll see the correct spelling. It's easier to fix typos then listen to non-constructive criticism. Also, thanks for covering a gameboy game, that's a WiiNintendo first! I hold very fond memories of my gameboy that I got for xmas in 1989.

    @ Justin,

Ouch, Give the kid a break. Is it REALLY that difficult to read? Is it REALLY necessary to belittle someone on a public post?

Kudos on the review Taylor, - "They fork you at the drive-thru!"

Please learn how to spell. Or how to learn a spellchecker. Or how to find someone to proofread something for you.
