Rumors: Pokemon Dusk Gold and Dawn Silver June 19, 2008
Recently, Pokemon Platinum version was apparently “leaked” all over the web when new scans of the game were published on Seribii.net’s homepage. The anticipated rumors were finally revealed to be real, and Pokemon Platinum version was announced to release in Japan sometime in late 2008.
Other rumors included that Nintendo had Copyrighted the names “Dusk Gold” and “Dawn Silver”. Due to the excitement of these rumors many Pokemon G/S hacks were made, most specifically Pokemon Shiny Gold(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LE82h0w11nA&feature=related) These rumors were said to be false. However, hope is starting to rise again when Pokemon Platinum version was announced just a week or so ago.ÂÂ

When the rumors started spreading(a few months ago) one member of the serebii forums stated the reasons why the rumors were most likely real.
- The very first thing in D/P is about the Red Gyarados… so what? Everyone knows the Red Gyarados in G/S….
- Jasmine is in the game and she’s talking about… what? Johto
- Prof. Oak is talking about a white stone which has to do with Kanto’s history… Well, except of a white stone which was in front of the Space Lab in Mossdeep City in R/S/E there was no white stone, so it could be a part of a new history in DG/DS.
- In the game data there are the special Pokéballs of Johto. So Nintendo included them in D/P for the symbol and to catch if you trade a Pokémon of Johto to Sinnoh. We’ll see….
- Nintendo knows how popular G/S is and they also know the well known ROM Hack remake of it… Shiny Gold. That’s no lie! I don’t know if they know how popular SG is but they know G/S were one of the best games ever.
 Over the months the rumors were confirmed to be fake, but so were Pokemon Platinum’s. Now that Pokemon Platinum is confirmed to be real, could there be a possibility these rumors are true as well?

Those scans were debunked LONG ago as fake. Not only that, but this speculation has been surviving forever simply because people want these remakes so badly. Could it happen? Sure.
But the hard truth is that there is NOT A SHRED OF EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT THAT.
So don’t hold your breath. And don’t propagate false rumors.

Tha chicorita pic is fake (it would say elms lab or somthing unless traded to dpp) And that serebii fourm comment has no proof whatsoever of a remake it is jut pointing out some cameos….

The Chikorita pic is from Pearl and Diamond. Somehow in the game system, they have the possibility to have pokemon imported from Johto, But there is no way to import from Johto, unless they made new games

The picture with chickorita, they just hacked the pokemon, you could say it came from Johto, or a Resturant.
The pokemon in question was made with Action Replay.

my theory on the remakes of gold and silver is that nintendo has to make them because first off, every pokemon fan has to agree thet
… but i found out how to restore silvers memory, you put new freshly bought double a batteries turn on silver play for a little while or however long you want to play, save, but keep on and place somewhere and let the batteries die. put different ones in and check your game, you will be able to continue, but only 2 or 3 times and then you have to do this all over again.
gold/silver/ and crystal were the best pokemon games so far and
nintendo should never not make a game that WILL trust me WILL
make them more money than any other pokemon game, even if they did
make it on the gameboy advanced will make them tons of money,
especially since every one that i know who has gold, silver, or
crystal for the game boy color their eternal memory on the game for some reason went dead so you cane save, turn off, turn on, then will only say new game, or options. its happened to my g,s,c, (yes i own all three)0, and it makes me very sad
if i was nintendo i WOULD MAKE THESE GAMES AS SOON AS I COULD!!! hopefully people that work at nintendo look at my and everyone elses comments!!!

I’m pretty sure it’s real if they have Copyrighted the names Dusk Gold and Dawn Silver. But until an actual reveal, I would just say these games are not fake, but unconfirmed. We are just speculating right now so nobody get their undies in a bunch.

They did remake red and blue as fire red and leaf green, so im sure the reasonings are there
Pokemon Gold is my fave pokemon game ever, even above the newer ones..
one of the main reasons, being that you could travel between two regions when you beat the elite four instead of just having to fill your pokedex
even if they remade them, id still buy them and stuff but the original gold and silver will always be my faves.

The screen shots of chikorita are not fake, there is code in d/p to display a pokemon from being traded from the johto region. that dosent mean that there will be a remake, but if they ever do decide to make a remake, there wont be any campatbilty issues with it for d/p.

OK, so you’re reading it –
We know that the top pictures are fake, so that gives us no proof that it exists, it might also tell people that someone is trying to keep the lie going to annoy us when it doesn’t com out – I don’t know
What I do know is that anyone that has used POKESAV before would be able to make both of those chicorita pictures – I know because i’m one of them – I only used it for impossible stuff when I got really stuck – and to beat my friends that also used it, but yeah even i could make those pokemon

Best game ever made: POKEMON GOLD (finish it 100x)
I bought a Nintendo DS and lost it. Since i had pokemon diamond almost finished i decided not to buy a new one. If pokemon gold dusk happens to arrive on market i surely buy a DS + spare on just in case… lol.

gold and silver and crystal were the best games of pokemon..its plot..story line were really good..hope nintendo will really make a remake of these versions..it would be wonderful to go back to johto again and collect 16 badges..or could they make it 32 for the whole regions they had made..lol

Strike me down with lightning if you think using cheat codes is wrong, but when using PokeSAV, while creating/editing a pokemon, you have the option to edit the region/version of which your pokemon came from. Mind you, this is from Diamond/Pearl’s coding itself, and 2 of the twelve options availible say “Gold (Johto)” and “Silver (Johto)”. Now why would they make that information for Diamond and Pearl if there isn’t a Gold and Silver for the NDS? Unless…

I love those games, especially because you could travel through jotho AND kanto! I never figured out why nintendo ever left the whole “travelling-to-older-continents” out on ruby and sapphire. Because of that I also didn’t buy a DS or play the Diamond and Pearl series. Still, if they’d re-release gold and silver for the DS, I’m definitely going to buy a DS and those remakes as soon as they hit Europe :p

u know maybe they should combine every game into one. u start out in kanto, then after u beat tht place, u go on to johto with new pokemon, makin the other ones from other levels unaccesable and u start out with a starter from the johto, then after tht u go onto hoenn, and now ure previous pokemon from johto are locked, and u start anew. then the same with shionh, untill u beat the entire game, and then there is one big boss at the end, and all ure pokemon are accesable. it would be pretty cool (then they could add big tournaments at the end of each level after the pokemon league, kinda like in the tv show.)

They should make a Pokemon Blue and Pokemon Red Remake for DS and not have it like pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green as awsome as they were i have admit they were alittle bit of a let down. also if they make Dusk Gold and Dawn Silver I’ll actually buy these and NOT download them because I respesct the classics that much

Its Clearly Fake; This person who did these snap shots had a lot of time on their hands. The “Johto” part is simple to explain, The person transferred from version to version. Remember all the past games had a way to transfer Pokemon into a more sophisticated game. The Time Machine, The Pal Park, etc. The bottom screen shots of Chikorita were transferred all the way to Pokemon D/P. Multiple reasons could be brought up; such as Action Replay. As for the poster, its harder to explain. Through logic, It would be to early to send out another pair of games just as soon as Platinum came out in America (even though this is in Japan). Cause they usually have a nice little time interval where there are no new Pokemon games. There are so many copies of the Boxes for them its hard to say whether its real or not. I’m not saying having another Pokemon Remake wouldn’t be nice, but think honestly.

The Pic seems fake and the pokemon looks hacked by(where it says Johto) due to pokesave and cheating devices, we can get Johto’s like the starters from coliseum and breed then migrate.I need hard evidence for proof that it does exists and not something made in photoshop or by sprite editors(like myself)

I think the first picture is REAL. because, when a game called ‘wario land shake it’ not have been relased yet, and no trailers of it had come, it was a picture just like this. Some pictures of the game and japanse writen. And then, trailers come. so i think the picture are real!

Well the remakes of those pics are fake, but the real remakes are official announced the names will be Heart Gold and Soul Silver yes people they are being remade! its all over the Internet with alooooot of amazing new features like all 493 Pokemon can follow you. So they are going to be remade, their release date in Japan will be around Fall of 2009 and for USA it will be Early 2010. Omg I cant wait till then!!!!!
