Nintendo’s World Hobby Fair line-up

Filed under: News — DarkWish @ 7:42 pm

If I remember correctly, last year we got Brawl impressions from the World Hobby Fair. Well, what can we expect this year? Nintendo has revealed their line-up for the World Hobby Fair, which starts on July 12th. The line-up includes Mario Kart Wii, Mario Super Sluggers, Wario Land: Shake It!, and Legend of Starfy 5. The only thing I, and most people, are probably interested in is some impressions of Wario Land: Shake It!, so I’m looking forward to that. Then again, Nintendo’s E3 conference is only three days after that, so this event isn’t really going to matter much.

Cooking Mama: World Kitchen details and pictures

Cooking Mama: World Kitchen details and pictures

New details have been released for the next installment in the Cooking Mama series, known as Cooking Mama: World Kitchen. You can read the press release below, and then check out Gametactics for more screens.

Preheat the oven, grease the baking pan and get out the spatula as Majesco Entertainment Company, an innovative provider of video games for the mass market, today announced additional details of Cooking Mama World Kitchen for Wiiâ„¢. Developed by Cooking Mama Limited, the latest installment in the celebrated franchise includes an all new 3D graphic presentation along with new recipes, modes and comedic mini-game surprises.

“The Cooking Mama franchise continues to be a best seller at more than two million units sold to date,” said Jesse Sutton, Chief Executive Officer, Majesco. “An original idea, inherently fun execution and Mama’s appeal have clearly resonated with both Wii and Nintendo DSâ„¢ audiences. Mama’s newest iteration, Cooking Mama World Kitchen, builds on this success with a host of feature enhancements that improve the cooking experience and deliver more of the unique personality that has made Mama such an endearing video game character.”

In Cooking Mama World Kitchen, Mama and friends have a whole new look given the game’s upgrade to full 3D graphics. By utilizing the Wii Remoteâ„¢ as a universal kitchen utensil, players can simulate actual cooking by chopping, grating, slicing, stirring and rolling their way through all new recipes that range from parfait to shrimp au gratin. Best of all, kitchen mistakes during meal preparation result in comedic mini-game surprises; for example, if you flip a burger too high, you can control Mama as she rushes in to save the day by catching it in her apron. Finally, a new game play mechanic integrates traditional Wii Remote utensil play with additional rhythm and motion that makes cooking easier and more enjoyable.

Cooking Mama World Kitchen for Wii is expected to release this holiday. For additional information about Majesco’s exciting line of products, please visit www.majescoentertainment.com.

Hello WiiNintendo!

Filed under: News — DarkWish @ 7:41 pm

 Hello WiiNintendo!

Hello WiiNintendo readers, the name is DarkWish. Mickey just offered me a position here at WiiNintendo posting Nintendo news and I accepted it right away. I just thought I’d put up a quick intro before I begin posting news. Well, I’m 18 and I’m a huge Nintendo fan of course. I own a Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, N64, GCN, and Wii. I started up my own blog called NES Online a while back, and for the past few months I have been a part of Wii Live. I’m excited to be here, and I hope to provide you with the latest Nintendo news.

Guitar Hero: On Tour, “secret feature”

Filed under: Exclusive, Fanboy, Rumors — hey_suburbia @ 12:05 pm

gh ontour wallpaper3 800x600 Guitar Hero: On Tour, secret feature

In IGN’s latest Nintendo Voice Chat Podcast, they talk about Guitar Hero: On Tour.  They mention a “secret feature” included with GH: On Tour.  It’s also said that this “secret” will be told soon.

[eternal nintendo]

Most speculation (mine included) is that it will be downloadable songs using the Nintendo Channel.  There are 3 empty slots in the bonus songs section of the game…

What do you guys think?

Order Guitar Hero: On Tour at WiiNintendo’s online store!

Rock Band 2: The Opening Act

rockband2 Rock Band 2: The Opening Act

Rock Band is ready for a comeback tour. Today, Harmonix announced Rock Band 2 is set to ship for Xbox 360 this September and PS3 later in the year (No word on the Wii release). However, the official announcement of Rock Band 2 is sparse on details, so IGN went straight to Harmonix to learn more. They spoke with Lead Designer Dan Teasdale to get the full scoop on the mega-sequel. Teasdale gave them his thoughts on user-created content, improving accessibility, upgrading last year’s model and more.

Do you feel cheated as a Wii owner about this news?

Zelda, Nintendo’s E3 ace up their sleeve…

lego zelda
photo: dunechaser

The guys at PureNintendo are dropping some math on us to add even more specualtion to the (we can only hope), announcement of a “The Legend of Zelda” Wii game announcement at E3.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Announced – December 1995

Released – November 1998

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask

Announced – June 1999

Released -October 2000

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Announced – August 2001

Released – March 2003

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Announced – May 2004

Released – November 2006

  • Ocarina of Time was released in November of 1998 and Majora’s Mask was announced only 8 months later.
  • Majora’s Mask was released in October 2000 and Wind Waker was announced just 11 months later.
  • Wind Waker was released in March of 2003 and Twilight Princess was announced just 15 months later.

This is the longest time we have waited for a Zelda announcement for a console in over 13 years. This is the perfect time for Nintendo to announce a new Zelda for the Nintendo Wii.

From the GameSpot Forums:

Yes, it is highly probable we might see it. The reason people think we will not is because for some reason, by “Zelda announcement”, they think of a full floor of Nintendo Wiis demoing the next Zelda in near-complete form. Please, come back to Earth, and realize a few facts:

1. Every 3D Zelda was announced one year after its predecessor release

And the “too early” argument crumbles. It’s “too late” actually. Majora’s Mask was announced in 1999, one year after Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker was revealed in 2001, which is also one year after Majora’s Mask, and Twilight Princess, guess what… yes! It was announced just one year after The Wind Waker, in 2004. I friggin’ don’t know where do these “oh, we have to wait soooo long for Zelda announcements” complaints come from. The wait for the Zelda Wii revelation is not normal, as many of you seem to believe, and it shall end July 15th-17th.

2. Zelda games are hyped for one or even two years

If Nintendo plans to release Zelda Wii in 2009 or 2010, then it has to be announced now. Zelda games are known for their long hype and slow revelations, pic after pic, trailer after trailer. It’s like every major game. Look at Mario Galaxy, Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy XIII, or at any other Zelda game for that matter. Nintendo won’t announce Zelda Wii soon before launch, they will reveal it one or two years before release, and that can only be now. A 2009 announcement would mean a 2011 release. Five whole years after Twilight Princess. That just makes no sense.

3. Nintendo needs to gather hardcore gamers

Nintendo has been having trouble getting rid of the “100% casual” image. Little by little, they’re starting to do it, but they need a “final blow” on this matter. Announcing Zelda now means to have the hardcore crowd attention hold for as long as they want. They did it with Twilight Princess, they had us waiting and drooling for two years, and they will do it with Zelda Wii as well.

4. Zelda Wii is in development and was featured at E3 2007 dammit

There’s some people living under a rock who still don’t believe Zelda Wii is being made. WTF? If it wasn’t enough the several reports from different sites and mags and the simple fact it has been years Twilight Princess was concluded, let me show you something:

[4:24] That’s all he can say about Phantom Hourglass today. Instead, he moves on to discuss…what’s coming in the next Zelda project. Holy cow.

[4:25] Aonuma has a bullet-point list of features in his head already that he wants to implement in the next Zelda. Miyamoto forbade him from letting us in on the secret, though. Rats.

[4:26] But he says he has a child-like excitement about something new like this, and he wants to let us in on the info immediately.

  • Twilight Princess was released in November of 2006.  E3 2008 falls in the month of July.  It’s been 21 months since Twilight Princess.
