Jack Thompson is in Trouble :)

Every gamers beloved lawyer, Jack Thompson, is finally experiencing a little taste of justice… not by winning one of his ludicrous lawsuits against the gaming industry though(like suing Rockstar Games because he is portrayed in their game without permission). Rather, he is at risk of being de-barred by the Florida Bar, where honorable Judge Dava Tunis (and I mean honorable, Dava rocks the house) has found the video game hating lawyer guilty of a laundry list of things such as:

• Knowingly making a false statement of material fact or law to a tribunal
• Knowingly disobeying an obligation under the rules of a tribunal
• Communicating the merits of the case with a judge before whom the proceeding is pending
• Using means that have no purpose other than to embarrass, delay or burden a third person
• Engaging in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation
• Engaging in conduct in connection with the practice of law that is prejudicial to the administration of justice, including to knowingly or through callous indifference disparage or humiliate litigants or other lawyers
• Making statements that the lawyer knows to be false or with reckless disregard as to the truth or falsity concerning the qualifications or integrity of a judge

His final punishment is not yet decided as Judge Dava Tunis’ complete report isn’t due to the Florida Supreme court until September 2nd, and a hearing about possible sanctions for his actions to take place on June 4th. Here’s hoping they slap his wrists as hard as possible eh?
