Guitar Hero 4 will be available for the Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 2. All platforms will have the same features.

Activision CEO, Bobby Kotick, said in April that they will include a lot of instruments and vocals for Guitar Hero 4 (Drums, the bass guitar and vocals). You can create your own guitar and drum sounds plus your own rocker too.

Another interesting added feature is song creation. Yes, you can now unleash your own inner songwriter. Unfortunately, you can’t record vocal tracks yet because of storage and copyright issues. But you can create up to five songs which you can share with the online community over at GH Tunes.

If people give your compositions a high rating, you can upload up to about ten or more songs. To help you make your songs more interesting, you can name them and create their album arts.

Confirmed so far is that Van Halen, The Eagles, Linkin Park and Sublime will be featured.

Finally, Guitar Hero 4 will feature a new guitar design from Red Octane which has an innovative input mechanic subject for patent.

    SCREW YOU ROCK BAND! Guitar Hero’s got our back!

  • Kevin

    I only recently got rock band. Its so much more fun than guitar hero IMO. Having all my friends over to play is some of the most fun I’ve had in awhile.

  • Steve

    Id be pissed if i have to buy a new guitar cause mine doesnt have a feature.

  • Taylor

    @kevin:

    Did you even read the article? Guitar Hero 4 will have all that and more.

    I know. You’re the one that brought up Rock Band. It seemed like you liked Guitar Hero more than Rock Band, so I was just commenting on what you said.

  • Taylor

    Yes, I like guitar hero because it has everything rock band has and more.

    Hopefully it will have good songs on disc, weekly DLC like Rock Band (minimum 3 songs a week) and Drums that work smooth from a drummers stand point and NOT BREAK. The cymbals on the drums are cool, but having only 3 drum pads suck. Most rock songs need at least 4 drums + bass drum. Plus the hi-hat position is wrong. But I’m hoping for the best. Just because it has more features doesn’t mean it’s going to be more fun then RB. Not to mention charting is one of the most important aspects to the game. Lets see if they get it right this time.
