Kid Icarus Wii details and concept art emerges May 9, 2008
That Factor 5 is currently developing a new version of Kid Icarus for the Nintendo Wii is one of the gaming world’s biggest rumours at the moment. And Kombo, the website that first started the whispers, has now revealed what it says are story details and concept art for the title.
These concept images are just that – concept – and do not necessarily mean that Factor 5’s Kid Icarus project has been given the official go-ahead, nor whether (if it has) that this artwork reflects the final art style of the game. Nevertheless, Kombo explains that the sketches were first uncovered in early 2008 and that the game’s artwork has progressed “considerably†since.
Rumoured details of the Kid Icarus plotline have also been discovered, with Factor 5 wanting to see an adult Pit (the game’s protagonist) being “cursed for a thousand years for a crime and becom(ing) a fallen angel.†A tattoo on Pit’s arm bears the inscription of his crime.
Both Nintendo and Factor 5 have declined to comment.

If adult, I guess it won’t be called “Kid” Icarus anymore…
Not sure if I like the “fallen angel” idea.
I know it’s still just rumors and concepts.
Hoping there is a game…just not sure I like these ideas.

I like Kid Icarus… I want to see a sequel… but PLEASE let this be no more than a hoax…. even though I know it is unlikely…
May 9th, 2008 at 5:06 pm
Ok… I will say this:
I was one of the many that scoffed at the name “Wii”. Now, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Perhaps I will grow to accept this version of Kid Icarus… especially if Retro creates it.
Still, “Fallen Angel”…. bleh….

‘Fallen Angel’ idea is borrowed from Final Fantasy VII in reference to Sephiroth.
The concept fan art look pretty cool. I wanna draw a Pit too.

I can’t wait to see Roth draw Pit.
Post that in the forums, mate!

I like the front post pic the best….all the other ones make him look kind of strange with the long hair, or they’re “too buff”
But the one on the front post is exactly what he should look like

Why don´t they just keep the brawl design???
May 11th, 2008 at 12:31 am
Fallen Angel Are you F*ing kidding me
I’m starting to get sick of these nintendo games having this Dark vs Light theme
LOZ TP and Metriod both have that concept already.

I like the design of Brawl the best hope they don’t change it

Why don’t keep the Brawl version of Pit? He’s really perfect like this!
And…Where is the Kid from ”KID icarus” ??
Huh?! Please nintendo! Do something! Stay with brawl Pit for the new game!
June 13th, 2008 at 1:25 pm
no. It’s called KID Icarus for a reason… blah… If they make him an adult, I’m not playing >.>
Everyone’s used to the brawl design, I think if Nintendo was smart, they’d keep that. But I dunno… I know it’s just concept art at the moment, but stillll…

I honestly don’t think they get the whole concept of “kid” if they make him “adult” than that pretty much ruins the name ” Kid Icarus” I honestly think Nintendo should keep the same style that he is in brawl (now, this is my opinion) If they keep him the same style he is in brawl, it would save time trying to re-develop a character that already exist! But that’s just me..
If they do make it “adult” and like this, I will not play it. Ever. I don’t care if I get a free copy, I won’t. It’s KID Icarus, not “adult Icarus” And, if they DO make a KID Icarus for wii, They should keep the same as he is in Brawl.
Concept are or not, I hope Nintendo makes the right decision by keeping him the same style he is in Brawl, Other wise, This may not go over well.
And Fallen angel? PLEASE tell me this is a HOAX. Because, Well, I don’t know what to say. Tsk Tsk tsk. I do hope this “concept” are stays the way it is, and they DO NOT use it. Because I want to play the Kid Icarus Game, with the same style pit as in BRAWL! I would pay the $50 or 60 USD for that! I wouldn’t pay a PENNY if they made it like that, and the “fallen Angel” thing only kills it further. I may be over reacting, but judging by some of the other posters, I seem to be agreeing with everyone else.
if you Nintendo guys are reading this, or whoever makes the game. PLEASE KEEP PIT THE SAME WAY AS HE IS IN BRAWL! I, AS WELL AS BILLIONS OF OTHER PEOPLE WILL LOVE YOU FOR IT!
Thanks

Nintendo has a huge opportunity to make ALOT of money on this game. there are so many kid icarus fans out there who have been waiting and waiting and waiting for a third game and if they are going with this whole fallen angle adult Pit thing, it’s going to backfire on them. The wait has been so long and the Brawl version of Pit was accepted so well. Please don’t make him an adult fallen angel nintendo!!!
June 24th, 2008 at 8:14 pm
I hate this whole “adault pit” thing and “fallen angel” thing! I also hate all of the consept art! if u ask me, the “new-age” look for pit should be how he looked in super smash bros brawl. Seriously. if he ends up looking like one of these retards, i will NOT buy this!!!
Nintendo people, if ur reading this, please note that like BILLIONS of people LOVE the pit in brawl. PLEASE KEEP HIM THE SAME!!! (It’ll probably save u $$$ also!)

P.S. If you ask me, this is what pit should look like-

Looks great. I think Nintendo will publish a lot of “adult”-graphics games in the next month (like Day of Crisis, Fatal Frame etc.)
July 10th, 2008 at 4:58 pm
They would’nt have to make him an adult, they could just make him sisteenish. that way, he could still be considerd a kid. And I am pretty sure that people who were fans of the game as kids have grown up and are looking for something that they can relate to more.
I personally think that the fallen angel concept has alot of potential. what if Pit was framed for something that he did not acctually do, and have the story about how he is trying to regain his position as a unfallen angel ( with some engaging plot twists of course).
I honestly think that this would become very interesting game, and I would definatley buy it.
July 16th, 2008 at 3:33 am
I don’t really agree with the idea of him being an adult. I loved how they made him like in Brawl, but if he really is going to be an adult…I can’t imagine…
I’m ok with the fallen angel and all, and it would be nice to see Pit crying and bruised and tortured…but if he’s old…THAT’S a different story xD
MAKE HIM A KID PLZ!
August 29th, 2008 at 9:35 am
okay……. the concept of “adult” pit makes me gag… pit looks much better in the brawl version, or at least as a teenager… (in my own opinion…) fallen angel idea…. kinda overused… i dunno… i just find a lot of game that have a “fallen angel” theme… one is final fantasy… and many fan fictions have that theme… i mean… these concepts make pit look weird… his brawl version looked much better and was well accepted by the public… if nintendo was going to make a new version of kid icarus… i think they would be smart enough to keep the brawl pit and use him… just saying…
September 4th, 2008 at 10:02 am
Adult Pit??? OMG! Please, keep him like in brawl… “Fallen angel”, i don’t think that’s a good idea.. Cuz, he wouldn’t be a hero then.. :S
KID Icarus, not ADULT Icarus! Everybody would LOVE the game if you’ll keep the “Brawl Pit” style.
September 4th, 2008 at 1:20 pm
I have all the faith in the world that this game will rock… no matter what crazy crap they do. A fallen angel seems cliche, but I’m sure they’d find a way to make it original and engaging. Personally, with the concept of a grown up or late teens Icarus… I like the idea of a huge battle between good and evil, I’m talking large military scale… and Pit could be a general of an angelic army or something.. Really there are a thousand and one ways they could go with this game.
September 7th, 2008 at 10:23 pm
You guys are fucking retarded. Who the fuck cares if it’s adult Pit? It’s called KID ICARUS because it follows the same fucking character.
September 20th, 2008 at 1:46 am
–The crap is this?
I’m a firm believer that the Kid Icarus series will have a game on the Wii, and I’m praying that this is not it. Looks like fan art to me, and bad fanart at that. Proportions are all wonky and…yes. Just far too much variation in character designs and everything, even for concept art.
Also, this is just a thought, but it seems to me that by doing an adult Pit, the game would totally alienate a lot of the target audience, particularly players who were just introduced to Pit recently through SSBB. About the ‘Fallen Angel’ thing…if done well and /right/, I can see that working, buuuuuuuuut…no.
*goes back to wishing for a Kid Icarus game on the Wii*
October 19th, 2008 at 10:14 pm
Eh, I like “Kid” Pit, better. He’s really cute. PLEASE, NINTENDO! LEAVE HIM THE WAY HE IS IN BRAWL! I LOVE HIM LIKE THAT!!! PLEASE, I’M ON MY KNEES BEGGING YOU!
November 21st, 2008 at 2:04 am
Ok, I’ve been a “Kid” Icarus fan for a long time and believe me I’ve been bloody waiting for a third game! I mean seeing this HIDEOUS art work really makes me mad, the Brawl design was actually wonderful since it captured Pit’s spirit; brave, young and heroic.
But…
I can see where Factor 5 is going with this, remember in the original Kid Icarus game how there are multiple endings? Well, if done right you get an ending of Palutena turning Pit into an adult then kisses him on the cheek. Maybe factor five is going from there? Yet in Kid Icarus of Myths and Monsters which is the supposed sequel to the NES Kid Icarus game, Pit is STILL a child. So I can see some lope holes with this whole ordeal. Now that was just logical thinking….now for my opinion.
I too believe that Nintendo has been getting a little dark lately, look at Twilight Princess. >.>;
What ever happen to Nintendo? I remember growing up with all these lovable fun characters like Pit and now all of a sudden they’re getting dark…and they wish to make Pit a criminal? Come on, I already see enough of these games already! It’s like the Jak & Daxter series, it started out cute but turned into something else. In my opinion some games actually do pull it off like the Zelda series, Jak & Daxter, etc. But Pit…no, I can’t see him like that. I think Nintendo should actually REMAKE the NES Kid Icarus for the Wii!
Few people know about Pit, they really do since he’s been long forgotten only those raised in the 80s will remember him, lol! XD
Yet when he came out in Brawl that really sparked his popularity back and a lot of new generation gamers are interested in him and want to find out more about this cute little Angel! So why not start off new? Get voice cast members, redo the whole game with better graphics and just more to it! That would be so cool!
But if they just do a third game, I hope they can keep it real to the Kid Icarus series and keep Pit true to himself. If they go with the Fallen Angel theme I hope to see some what of an interesting plot or at least be creative about it…hope Nintendo plays their cards right because if they mess this up, a lot and I mean A LOT of Kid Icarus fans will be displeased. So if you’re reading this Nintendo think wisely about your decisions here and what you’ll do with Kid Icarus…after all you are dealing with a piece of long forgotten yet lovable character that has captured the many hearts of fans! So don’t mess this up!

Jared, grow up and find something better to do that attention-seek on the interwebz. Until then, STFU.
Right, pleasantries aside, this concept art looks epic.
Epic fail, I mean.
The Pit we all know and love is an adorable little brave angel who goes on a quest to save his Palutena. This – I don’t know what the hell it is – just sucks. Where’s the correlation between this fugly emo crim and the cute innocent Pit that we love? I mean what are they thinking? Are they even thinking at all??
1st Factor 5 dude: Hey I got this like, totally epic idea! Let’s make a game about a fallen angel!! That’ll sooooooo rock!!!!! w000t!!
2nd Factor 5 dude: But man hasn’t that been done before?
1st Factor 5 dude: Yeah, s’a problem… *thinks* Hey, I know! That kid from brawl, all those oldies are making a fuss over him, what’s he called again? Yeah let’s just use his name and and all the fanboys will rush out to buy it! EPIC WIN!!
No guys, you’re doing it wrong.
The Brawl Pit is perfect (the only complaint I have is his voice sounds a bit too old in the English release). Nintendo got his transition to 3D just right. I’d be très gutted if they did all that just to turn him into this fug. You’re going to lose a lot of fans if you go ahead with this Factor 5.

Oh please, you guys will buy it. You’re just making a big deal out of it. Seriously, you wait years for a sequel, and when you get one, you complain. Grow up.
May 8th, 2009 at 3:46 pm
….Ummm…. Look, I’m just a 15 year old girl who knows next to NOTHING about Pit and the Kid Icarus series, but I agree with everyone here in saying that Adult Pit is a bad idea!! So is making him into a criminal!! …But, the criminal thing could maybe, MAYBE work if he’s framed for a crime he didn’t do, and now Palutena and Angel Land are in danger from whoever framed Pit to get him out of his/her way so that he couldn’t interfere with his/her evil plans… But making Pit into an adult? That’s just STUPID!
May 30th, 2009 at 2:04 am
Heroes are for the weak keep him the way he needs we need change in gaming.
June 12th, 2009 at 11:46 pm
Hmm.. this is an interesting strategy to get people talking about the game, isn’t it… make it sound like they’re ruining it. but if you REALLY know the story from the original game, and try to update it into a what we consider a full-length game now, you know that they really have to some inventing to pull that story out.
Where am I going with this? Pit, according to the original game’s manual, was in charge of Palutena’s personal body guards. Not exactly the position of a kid. Throughout the game, he had to gather the three legendary artifacts AND the strength to prove he was worthy of using them against Medusa. Now let’s add the clues that factor 5 seems to be giving us..
He’s an adult, cursed for a thousand years, and is considered a “fallen angel”… Perhaps he was an adult when he was the leader of Palutena’s personal bodygaurds, but did something that, though noble, was still a crime, perhaps one of treason… How about standing against Palutena’s decision to turn Medusa into a monster. That was kinda cruel. What he even was wise enough to warn Palutena that Medusa would make due on her threat to take back the Palace in the Sky? Since standing against a goddess like Palutena would be treason, he may have been cursed to remain in the underworld prison.
Cue Medusa leading an army into the Palace in the Sky, taking over, Palutena realizing that Pit was right, then mustering what strength she has left to send Pit a bow and arrows, plus a way to escape his curse: become a kid and re-prove his strength to Zeuz, so he may once again be allowed to use the legendary items and fight Medusa to save the Palace in the sky.
That seems to flush the old story out quite well while adding some emotional involvement in the story. It also makes Pit being a “fallen angel” not as bad as it sounds… Did I mention I write games for a living?

WHAT IS THIS CRAP I MEAN AN ADULT I
June 21st, 2009 at 2:30 pm
sorry my last comeent was cut off {ehem}WHAT IS THIS CRAP I MEAN AN ADULT I LOVED PIT IN BRAWL and found out about his legacy and now i just found all this fallen angel stuff but if nintendo reads this just listen and i like the whole framed thing and since its for wii like on zelda twilight princess you can fight on the horse and still shoot arrows use the nunchuk to move him and use the wii remote to shoot arrows abd the brawl pit is perfect although they can say angels age like 1 year for like every 200 and he’d be like a teenager if they do go with the fallen angel route if you agree with me just say so
