Those of you who liked the phenomenal PC game “Portal” may be interested in this.
This game appears to merge the unique gameplay of Portal with platforming. There are a few inconsistencies (the protagonist seems to be male, and the player collects cake along the way*), but it is rather impressive for a homebrewed game.
According to CNN’s list(from GameTap), the only Wii game to look forward to for the rest of 2008 is Madden ‘09.  All the other games are for PC, PS3, and XB360.  Granted, I know Nintendo has already released several big-hitters this year, but surely that’s not all there is to 2008.  What about Stars Wars: The Force Unleashed, Mushroom Men, Civilization Revolution, Animal Crossing (I’m hoping for a 2008 release), Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers (also hoping for 2008), and Dog Island (I kid!).  I’m sure there are others I’m forgetting.  Anyway, do you agree with this list?  What are some Wii games you are really looking forward to in 2008?
Games Radar has just posted a list of games that time has forgot.  Some were cancelled altogether, some were moved to other consoles, and others were merely stepping stones for the next real game.  Check out their list.  Are there any you never heard of?
Above:  A screenshot from the SNES game Starfox 2, which was ready for release.  The only problem was that the N64 was right around the corner, and the game was canceled.  I wish Nintendo still had those game carts.
Will some of these games make their way to Wii Ware or Virtual Console?  I highly doubt it.  Check out Games Radar’s list of “lost Nintendo games” by clicking here.
I’m sure, if you’ve been watching TV, surfing the web, or watching the Nintendo Channel on Wii, you’ve been seeing several commercials featuring 3 famous women and our beloved Nintendo DS.  According to these commercials (and the website started for this endeavor), America Ferrera has been playing New Super Mario Bros., Carrie Underwood keeps busy with Nintendogs, and Liv Tyler is training her brain with Brain Age 2.  Is this an effort to sell the DS, market it more to females, or sell these specific games?  I say all 3.  No matter the reason, I’d recommend checking out iplayforme.com.  You can check out the videos and behind-the-scenes shots with the 3 ladies, which I’ve got to say is quite humorous.  You can also see a list of recommended games and learn about the DS (as if you don’t already know what it is).  All I can say is that with this additional promotion of the Nintendo DS, I’m ready for more interconnectivity with the Wii.  Anyone with me?
We’re at an RV park on the border of Indiana and Ohio in a town called, New Paris. We’re about 9 hours from Philadelphia, PA (where we live), so I should be home Friday late night. I’ll post a road trip wrap up this weekend, I’m exhausted. I was the only driver and I see the highway in my sleep now…

Now even though some argue it is the greatest game of all time, I’ve got to admit that I’ve never played Super Mario RPG.  I know, I know!  But maybe I will soon get that chance again.  Many of you have been waiting for this game to be released on the Wii Virtual Console since launch day.  Well, if you are in Japan (or have a Japanese Wii), you will soon get to enjoy SMRPGLOTSS (wow, that’s long) again in all it’s glory.  According to sources, Nintendo will realease SMRPG for the VC in June for 900 Wii Points.  Although many of you are upset you are not Japanese, do not fret.  This should only add more hope to the day we get to experience it again in NA.  Until then, continue to wait patiently.  Our day will come soon!

A video containing the 2 main characters of Beyond Good and Evil was revealed at the Ubidays 2008 press conference… the graphics are an impressive step up from the first GC game, and it looks like this action-adventure game will have a nice dose of humor thrown into it.
EA has just released a little teaser / informer video for their game Spore. It gives a bit of details and previews the creation of your character. For those of you who don’t know what Spore is all about, it allows the player to control the evolution of a creature. It starts at the single celled organism stage, passes through the planet inhabiting civilization type stages, and continues all the way through the advanced stages of space exploration.  You, the player, will control how the creature looks and behaves. Will they be cute, bubbly, social elites, surviving off of economics and peace? or will they be spikey, buff, aggressive war mongers who take over land and live by dominating the lesser species? Whatever style you would prefer to play, it looks like the game will offer a very detailed and rich experience. It has been in production for quite some time now, winning several awards at E3 2005 such as: Best of Show, Best Original Game, Best PC Game (confirmed now for consoles as well), and Best Simulation Game.
For those that haven’t heard much about this title and want to learn more, there is an indepth Wiki article here* (that actually needs a bit of updating, but still gets the idea across)
I am not sure what a Wario Land Shake is, but if it is anything like a chocolate shake OR the old Wario Land (not to be confused with Wario World) games, Japan is in for a treat.
Jokes aside, Wario Land Shake is a game coming to Japan July 24th. There is no word on a PAL or American release, but I’d be surprised if we didn’t see it on our shelves someday.
It will follow the traditional Wario Land style. It will be a two dimensional side scroller, and the Wii remote will be held sideways. It will make use of some controller shaking, but aside from that it doesn’t seem that it will make much use of the Wii’s unique functionality.
Wario Land Shake is set to include the following features:
20 stages
Hand-drawn animation
1 player
Various locations including jungle ruins, desert, and ocean
Shake the Wiimote for special actions (such as shaking enemies to grab coins, unearth hidden locations, and more)
