Reports have come out saying that (N)intendo (o)f (A)merica’s marketing campaign for “WiiFit will be the largest in the company’s history” (said Wedbush Morgan) Well known analyst Michael Pachter in a note to investors this week. Pachter said that the Wii Fit campaign will be focused on Target and Best Buy, retailers he says there known for attracting the “couch potato” market.

“(Wii Fit) is not aimed at hardcore gamers, but is instead intended for more casual and out-of-shape consumers,” Pachter said. “We have learned that Nintendo of America intends to support the Wii Fit launch with the biggest marketing campaign in its history, and believe it is unlikely that such a large marketing campaign is intended to disproportionately benefit (game specialty retailer) GameStop.”

It is said that the Wii consoles’ availability should increase by about 150,000 units per month.

Max’s Q’s?

Do you think that WiiFit could become one of the bestselling games of all times?

Although WiiFit seems like an great product, I’m more interested in hearing about other games that make use of the board like balance-based sports games (i.e. snowboarding, skateboarding, skiing). It’d be nice to have arcade games like Alpine Racer finally hit homes.

I’m curious if they will be putting out Wii Fit kiosks in retail stores. That way, it’ll catch people’s attention. The board can easily be tethered. There just has to be enough room to move around though. Some stores don’t have that room especially the GameStops in malls. So I rather have them put one right outside the door, but not necessarily in people’s way when they walk by.

I’m ready for them to drop the price. \:D/

^It sure didn’t flunk in Japan, but that doesn’t mean it will succeed in Europe or USA as well.

Like Wii Sports+Wii Remote, it’s a given that people will be curious to try this out.
Gimme those Wii Fit kiosks! \:D/

Never going to be the greatest game of all time, I find that absurd. I will say that it will make a pile of cash whether Nintendo sales the idea or not. It is rare to see Nintendo really advertising something though and it is refreshing to see that they are getting behind their product with some advertising. An easy hit for the coach potato Americans.
