Nintendo, Nintendo, Nintendo…. I loved Nintendo WFC because it was constantly improving and was free! But now, we have to pay for quality service!

  • Rod

Hey, the pay part could be something to do with DLC. I can’t imagine Nintendo changing their stance on online after publicly saying that their service would be wither free or nonexistent.

  • Kaneco

I think this might be for MMO and MMORPGs

  • Luke

This better not delay mario kart wii in anyway.

Guys guys. This is a good thing!

See, if we have to Pay to Play, then that means money goes to the devs for things like servers and updates! So they develop DLC instead of forgetting the game and making a sequel.

  • The-truth-teller

My guess is nintendo wont be charging money but third party (greedy) componys will be.

The point is it will give third party developers an incuregment to porogram wifi into their game.

I Hope To God this doesnt come onto SSBB or i will be PI%$#@ off!

this is doubtfull as I have looked around other websites such as gonintendo and they have posted nothing of the such.
There is also no proof or links or anything so im still skeptical

I was never too impressed with WFC, not enough games supported it. Not too sure if I’d pay for it.

If we have to pay to play then I guess I’m never play a wii game online again!

i heard that it was for downloadable content on some games that you had to pay for. i think nintendo wi-fi connection is still free.

  • scullum2001

@ everyone who thinks this pay-to-play thing is for EVERY game: It’s not! It’s only for those games that will have this new red sticker instead of just the normal blue one. The games that are already free will stay free. And we will still have free online games in the future. Not every game will require you to pay to play online.

What I am wondering is if you will have to pay for the “Pay to Play” service as a whole, like Xbox Live, or individual games, like crud. Paying for individual games could make a hefty bill.

  • Rod

    @SirVenom

Or it could result in you only paying for the games that you own instead of for the right to play every game.

I’m still optimistic that this is for DLC.

    @ bee_kidding

You have the right idea because one of the only reasons of have a wii
    1) its fun
2)the games aren’t all gory and stabby
    3) online is free

TO be honest i don’t mind this, that is unless is has to do with ssbb and mario kart. If it goes to other games i am perfectly fine
