My first 10 min. w/ MX vs. ATV untamed

If you have been waiting for some kind of off road racer (hell… any kind of racer) MX vs. ATV Untamed, in my opinion, is the best racer since Excite Truck.  Games like Nitro Bike and Kawaski Quad whatever were just terrible games with control schemes that just flat out didn’t work.

MX vs. ATV is really quite fun.  They offer 5 different control schemes (as seen in my video above, even the soon to be released “Mario Kart Wii wheel”.  You can hold the Wiimote on its side, use the Wiimote with the Nunchuk, Classic Control, inside the wheel periphieral.  I used the nunchuk option during my first 10 minutes.  The controls were really tight, so much so that I wasn’t used to being able to make such drastic turns that one has to do on a dirtbike.  After the video I got a lot better and found the controls to work very well.

The video was recorded with composite cables at 480i, so it actually looks a lot better with my component cables/16×9/480p, my video recorder doesn’t except 480p.   The reason I bring this up is because the video looks a little muddy in the YouTube video I posted.  The graphics are pretty nice.  Decent lighting effects, great physics, detailed environments, etc…  It also runs at a pretty decent frame rate.

Another thing to note is that this has Nintendo WFC, I didn’t connect yet, but if your dying for some Mario Kart Wii racing action and you’re tired of Excite Truck, this is a great filler for the time being.

It definitely doesn’t look as good as Excite Truck, except for the online
