WiiNintendo, now with IRC Chatroom! January 20, 2008
Hi, I’m Noodle93. Some may, may not know me, but I’m a WiiNintendo IRC Operator. IRC is just a chatroom, and it’s simple to setup and use.
If you’re already into IRC, and already have an IRC client, our server is irc.freenode.net (port 6667) and the room is #WiiNintendo.
If you don’t know a thing about IRC, and want to come to our chatroom, here’s how.
Step 1. Install Chatzilla here.
Step 2. Run Chatzilla. From Mozilla Firefox, just go ‘Tools -> Chatzilla’.
Step 3. Connect to our server and room. Type:
“/server irc.freenode.net”
And then, once it has loaded (it will say it has connected), type:
“/join #WiiNintendo”
You can find many tutorials on the internet, but just for starters, to change your nickname, type: “/nick <new-nickname>” It may have already been registered, so you’ll need to use another name, or combination.
Any questions, always feel free to ask.
Now that we have a chatroom, you can go in the to discuss and play games as well as talk about results in tournaments. Have fun!
