Two new Nintendo execs? January 15, 2008

Nintendo of America’s brand-spanking new Bay Area office in Redmond City, California, are in full swing, they’ve just announced two new sales and marketing executives have been recently appointed.

Denise Kaigler up first, and she’s joining the company as vice president of Marketing & Corporate Affairs starting February 18. The other is Bill van Zyll, who’s being put in the position of director and general manager of Nintendo’s Latin America business. His appointment is effective immediately, and both will report to executive vice president of Sales & Marketing, Cammie Dunaway.

“Denise and Bill bring a wealth of branding and marketing experience to our team,” Dunaway said. Their expertise will help us keep Nintendo’s momentum going strong throughout 2008 and beyond.”

  Denise Kaigler Overview

Kaigler, who’s replacing Perrin Kaplan (We will miss you Perrin) who left Nintendo last year, will be responsible for overseeing company’s corporate affairs, including corporate communications, public relations, government affairs, investor and analyst relations, and internal communications, and she will play a key role in global coordination. For the last 16 years, she’s been with Reebok International and its parent company, the adidas Group.

Van Zyll Overview

Van Zyll joins Nintendo’s Latin America department, which is responsible for the creation, direction and implementation of short- and long-term sales, marketing, and operational strategies throughout that region. The last 15 years of his career have been spent at the Whirlpool Corporation, where he’s been in roles including the overseeing of Whirlpool’s operations in Latin America, making his experience perfectly suited to Nintendo.
