Nintendo will make an appearance at GDC 2008 January 15, 2008

Nintendo will host three keynote sessions at GDC, on diffrent aspects of Wii development. The first keynote, titled “Wii Fit: Creating a Brand New Interface for the Home Console“ will be presented by Takao Sawano, and will be a talk on how Wii Fit was developed and how challenges were overcome during the development period.
The second presentation, “Planning the Wii Menu: From Pre-Launch to WiiWare“, details what the Nintendo Network Group faced when developing online for Wii Menu, such as the Wii Shop Channel and WiiWare. This talk will be held by the team leader of Nintendo Network Group, Takashi Aoyama.
Lastly, Super Smash Bros. Brawl director Masahiro Sakurai will be presenting a talk on his latest work, “Building Characters: The Super Smash Bros. Brawl Postmortem“, which will give an inside view into what his development team had to achieve to add many new characters and Wi-Fi options to the upcoming title.
The Game Developer’s Conference will take place on February 18-22 in San Francisco.
