There is an updated out for the wii again. Just in time for the holidays, the long awaited gift feature for the wii shop channel has been released for all of your gifting pleasures. It also adds a new icon instead of the old boring one.

The new update also includes Photo Channel v1.1 which allows you to set your favorite picture as the display icon in the main menu for the wii.

Alright somehow someone told me you could put games off your computer save them to an sd memory card and put it on your wii. I tried this many times and its not working. Anyone know if this is possible or can help me out??

    To potatoman:

Find the image you want, and view it. Select the option to Post, and you should now have a Wii Menu option. This will now show as your Wii Menu icon for the Photo Channel.
  • Yeah, those games are coded and done with. It also should be noted that AAC files will not all of a sudden work in excite truck or endless ocean with this update.
  • It doesn't kill MP3 support for games like Excite Truck and Endless Ocean, just the Photo Channel
  • So, anyone know if this kills mp3 support for excite truck?

i WONDER if they might eventually support connecting your iPod now, since it's AAC. just an idea...nothing more than that. it may never happen.
  • They went to AAC because its the standard format for ITunes and Ipods. Makes sense.
  • iTunes can convert to AAC. Winamp can rip CDs to AAC.
In case any of you want to go back to the old version just delete the new version 1.1 from the Wii data within the options, and it'll revert back to the previous version.

(not message board ON the icon)
  • Subrosian
    It's AAC soz =p
  • Subrosian
to put ACC which is superior but I can't find any ACC converter...
  • Yeah too late... I was just going to post the same thing. Why would they go with anything other than MP3 it doesn't make sense.

    hey guys,
just so you know this update kills mp3 support in the photo channel though..
    so watch out for it.
if you still want mp3 then do not get this update
