The UK news outlet, MCV, opened the floodgates today, relaying the news that the Nintendo DS had set a new sales record in the UK. According to a Nintendo Spokesperson, the DS sold 191,000 units in a seven day period last week, outselling every other piece of hardware ever released, in a similar period. The previous record was set when Sony’s PSP sold 185,000 units in 7 days, in the week after its launch. The area once hailed as Sony land is continually showing that there may be a new king.

Hint: He’s a plumber.
