Bigger than the Beatles, Barbie and Britney – Super Mario is back with a bang.

The famous pint-sized computer character has returned in Nintendo Wii game, Super Mario Galaxy.

Hundreds of enthusiasts braved the cold in central London to be the first to get their hands on Mario, a day before the game’s official release.
And the first gamer in the queue, who turned up at 9am – said it was well worth the wait.

He said: “It’s so beautiful and really pushing the Wii to what it can do. It shows the other competitors that gameplay is better than everything else.”

Players will be transported to the outer regions of space with Mario the plumber, as they explore numerous galaxies and planets across the universe.

Super Mario Galaxy is expected to sell 200 million units worldwide.

    HAHA! good one Joe, people buying over 15 copies so they swim in a pool of them, or rock back and forwards in a cornder and have someone shower the copies over you…it would hurt like but you know…some people are crazy.

    i think theyre thinking over the long term, after all people are still buying wiis and i know a place thats doing an smg console bundle for the holiday season, so that’ll boost sales. They’ll reach 20million sales easily, even oot sold more than that, and it’s the only game in history thats got a higher metascore (average rating) than this game. (this game having 98/100, ocarina of time having 99/100) both nintendo games.

    I’m from the UK got Galaxy on Friday. I’ve got 77 stars 18 hours. Best galaxies so far (only done up to Kitchen 100%): Gusty Gardens, all boss levels, Freezeflame

    Good levels: Beach Bowl, Dusty Dunes, Good Egg

    Hardest star: Bouldergeist Daredevil

    Most fun: All of them!
