Let me just start off by saying this is totally a rant, this is nothing more than me bitchin about our faggish store. Excuse me for my language, this is hell for me though! I looked forward to this game all year long, and the store I reserved it at DOESN’T HAVE THE GAME. As a junior in high school I HAVE to have something to look forward to, this was the big day, when Super Mario Galaxy hits store shelves and I am able to face Bowser once more in a much anticpated true sequel to Super Mario 64.
Toys R Us’s deal was that they would get the game by 5. Its now 6:25, still no game. When I called to ask about what was going on, they had no idea. They said that every other Toys R Us got this game in today EXCEPT FOR THE CANTON OHIO Store.
You might ask me, “why don’t you just go somewhere else to get the game?”. The answer is simple, I’m getting a 360 for Christmas and I plan to buy Rock Band on my own, to do that I have to save every cent I can, and if that means getting 25 bucks towards Toys R Us then that’s what I’m gonna do.
A message to the guy who messed up the release date- “I hope you get fired!”
I hope everyone is enjoying Super Mario Galaxy out there (as I know I would be), I’m hoping to get it tomorrow we will see though! This is an outrage, I would understand if they gave me like a 5 dollar gift card because they didn’t have it in on time, but they aren’t doing anything about it. This is obviously God’s way of saying “Life’s not fair”. Oh well. Today was just a bad day for life here in Canton.

Well this happened to me and i got really pist of,but the game should get to my toy r us tommorow if i have luck.
Oh i forgot and i dont live in Ohio, just another unlucky toys r us.
Actually, my mom was at a store in Dayton (well, Beavercreek) and they didnt get them in by five either. in the end, they took names and promised everyone the $25 card and ten dollars off the game.
they also said a number of TRU stores in the area didnt get them.
The lady in front of my mom was from Target and she said that they had had theirs in for over a week, so I dunno whats up with TRU.
My Toys R Us got theirs in… all eight copies. What kind of number is that anyway?
I just think I should mention something. I Love this site but your language in this post is very offensive.One word is censored and the second, and most derogartory word, that is directed to a specific lifestyle of a person has nothing to do with the aritcle. Surely there could have been more words to describe your dissapointment. A word like the one you mentioned breeds hate and intollerance.

Anyway, EBGames was the same thing in Montreal, Canada. Nothing in whatsoever, so I cancelled my preorder and ran over to futureshop where there were several, and I mean SEVERAL dozen copies just sitting there waiting for us
Needless to say I can’t even play it tonight because I’m busy with work :-p damn shame huh? hahahaha sorry just rubbing it in. Good luck guys!

That’s the best word you could come up with to describe your experience? I get that you’re pissed and I get that you’re a junior in high school, but what I don’t get is that you know enough to apologize immediately after saying it, yet keep it in your post.
I hope that the other providers take notice of this and help coach you along with what’s appropriate, otherwise you’re bound to lose a couple of loyal reader who would honestly prefer to keep enjoying this site.

I didn’t think it was worth 25$ to go to Toys ‘R Us… I already paid it off at Game Stop and I got it on time.

Ya, they were sold out at mine too. Which sucks, I really don’t have much money but I just went to Best Buy (had a million of em) and bought it, just since I wasn’t prepared to not get $25 back I just have to do a few extra things here and there…. but I’m fine, the game rocks.

My lifestyle isn’t misguided. And furthermore just because I take offense to a prejudice word, doesnt’t mean its applicable to me. Some of us people in the world prefer to be accpeting of one another regardless of race, gender or sexuallity. It would appear that you are the one who is misguided. You have “burned” nothing but yourself here. Its a shame, your journalistic skills are othersie sound. It a shame that a lack of life experience and maturity gets in the way of an otherwise well written article. Build bridges don’t burn them.
Same thing here in Oregon… All the store from Portland to Eugene (That’s like 7 stores in about 100 miles) didn’t get them either.

My toys”r”us didn’t get their copies in today either. I stood in the store just looking at the clerk and then left in silence. I wasn’t throwing a fit about it or anything because I know I’ll get the game eventually, but I feel your pain. As for the language, I didn’t get to read the article before it was edited but I just thought I would remind people that the English language is constantly evolving and some words don’t have the same meaning for everyone. I often find my self insulting people by calling them “jews”, I have nothing against jews, I just use the word. (I should probably stop.) Oh, one more thing, no one likes censorship.

But mario galaxy should be a great game. I don’t know if it has a chance of being better than mario 64 though because it’s a solid game. Hope you get the game soon though.

Wow, for a moment I thought I had pulled up some random My Space/Live Journal page. Mario didn’t show, oh well. What’s to say, other than GET OVER IT!!! I’ve faced many of times where my pre-order was delayed, arived late, or was missing bonus shwag. Crying over it isn’t gonna do squat, so suck it up. This just means you’ll have to wait a bit longer, that’s all. Trust me, this won’t be the last time it happens.
If you really want a bright side, at least you didn’t get there only to score a copy printed with the wrong region coding.
Another bright side, at least you have a ride or someone to bring to you there while others had to depend on buddies who aren’t available on the weekdays.
Optional Solution: You can still buy Galaxy at any other store right now, then when it is in stock at Toys R Us you can buy and trade that new one at the store you bought from or a simple Walmart and still get the 25$ gift card.

I mean…I was promised my copy on Monday Nov 12th, 2007 and didn’t get it. I was uber cheesed…I planned the beginning of my week around having time to play Monday night. Now because some moron can’t get a date right I sat on my butt all Monday night and have to wait until tonight to play. Reading this lets me know that others are/were in the same position and just as unhappy as I.
What is even better is that a bunch of you want to rant that someone ranted on this site. You want to tell him to get over it. Maybe you should practice what you preach.
Now as for the swearing…well…I see no problem with that either. Maybe one of you whinners should call the internet police on him. Oh wait…no such thing. Guess you out of luck. The english language is a funny thing. There is a thing called context. And the context for which your language was used was offensive. As for “the pile of sticks”, learn why a pile of sticks might be offensive to these people. Im pretty sure if you meant a pile of stick, you might have said pile of sticks. Your context was not to have a light hearted joke with someone.So have pride in yourself, and instead of trying to explain away your mistake you could assume responsibility and move on. With each revision you seem to be digging yourself a deeped hole.
Derec said it right. Angrey I dont agree with you. I find it offensive that everyone on this forum finds the post offensive. We all know when he said faggish he in no way meant it derogatory toward homosexuals, but you felt the need to jump on him. The site has allowed the post to continue so obviously they dont feel it necessary to remove it. The next option you could take since this offends you to the core of your soul is to not come back to this site. You all bitch about the context of the site and how evil it was to you, yet you come racing right back to the same site you defamed. My recomendation to you is to either not come back, start your own site, or just shut up and deal with it.

this happens to me all the time i google the release date for a game and i see the same date in every description then i go the game store and they say it comes out the next day
why? It’s in the context you permitted.
At the very least, I hope you’re enjoying the game at this point and we can all move on to the reason we’re all here, anyway: enjoying video games.
